Without knowing your CPU hard to definitely tell, but this card will draw around 250w while gaming for reference. If you dont have a super power hungry CPU, you should be fine. If you have something like an overclocked 14900K, you might run into issues.

I got the xtx for $765, I also got the Acer gre for $480. I'm gonna return one . But which? I have a 1440 monitor (Samsung g5) but would like the idea of holding onto a GPU longer if I could. I'm coming from a 1660 super. I mainly play single player games... Rarely multiplayer, so I would like good resolution.

lol neither related to this deal but gre is better than this one.

If you play often and play AAA games on release keep the xtx, should be solid for ~2gens at 1440p little less if you switch to 4k

otherwise if you don't play often and just want a gpu for the off case you want to pc game and just claim free epic and Amazon games at 1440p like me, I'm going 7800xt from Amazon with a 1/31/2025 return window in case next gen is as cheap as some rumors suggest and beat potential tariffs. I got the PowerColor 7800xt for $420 so think that is solid midrange and price

Gre ~10%+ performance, this is a better powercolor card vs fighter (red devil preferred) but at $450, the 7800xt has been as low as 420 (powercolor fighter yesterday) so I'm not sure this is worth the premium from that. Also note the size fighter should fit in my build the others will not

The GRE is a better card.. bought this Hellhound 7800XT at 450 but before I open it, I'm waiting to see if a deal on a 7900 GRE happens again. 479 was a pretty good deal for that. If it does, I'll probably return the XT and go for a GRE. Unless another 7800XT goes below $420 then maybe I'll also consider that.

Easily unless you're doing some extreme overlocking and have 1-200 HDDs

I think the one you're referring to was an Acer Nitro 7900 GRE with two fans, priced at $479 from Newegg. I didn't pull the trigger on that one because: 1) Acer is new to the GPU game, and 2) a two-fan GPU would likely be hotter and louder than something like the Hellhound.

I actually waited it out and got this deal instead, before it went viral on SD. I had a Microcenter coupon, so my GPU ended up being $450 OTD, with tax and everything. Very happy with the purchase.

That's pretty sweet. I wanted to use a $20 new customer coupon but I redeemed a free SSD from them a while back with that coupon and they still remember me Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I'll be interested to see what other GPU deals come out on BF but maybe these are what we're gonna get. I noticed the stock on the hellhound go from about 14 to 9 since yesterday.
