Great price IMO, for a great RC model.

Placed an order. I'm planning to print this body [makerworld.com] for it.

This is a quality Rc rock crawler. I have the 1st deadbolt from a Black Friday deal 5 years or more ago.

This is the older model; the SCX10 III made a number of improvements

The traditional reason for buying Traxxis over almost any other brand still applies: if you walk into any local hobby shop (LHS) in America, they'll have parts for almost every Traxxis model made, plus third party parts for same, plus competitive prices for all of the above.

For the other brands, it varies by LHS, you'd want to check yours. Yes, Amazon can have a new part in your mailbox in 48 hours, but sometimes it's nice to go to the LHS and get the immediate satisfaction of replacing that part you just broke (and confirming in person that it's the right replacement parts) and have a chance to browse other parts too.

Gist: Every LHS in America stocks Traxxis stuff, especially for the Slash 2WD and Slash 4WD (but really, all of them). For other brands, not so much.

Well said.

It really is (was) a very smart strategy on their part very early on. Until ANY of their competition can start to rival that single aspect of the business, Traxxas will most certainly maintain their market position as Leader, 100%.

LHS in my area has parts for Axial, Arrma, 1rc, and traxxis.

Agreed. I'd say hobby shops have just as many Arrma parts as traxxas.
