For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

You have to not have been a subscriber for a month.
Grab a g mail address, different payment
I canceled in early October to plan for this, but I don't see the offer

If you have a discover credit card which you don't plan to use, sign up with card and don't use for any other transactions and discover will pay that 0.99 as a small transaction credit or something and your hulu will be free(did this entire last year), not much but still worth it πŸ™‚

Great deal but curious if anyone else has ran into Hulu's ads being way louder than what they're watching, I know this has been a thing with commercials going back to the cable days, but when I had Hulu w/ads a year or two ago it was so bad/annoying that I stopped watching it.
Yes. It does it when we cast. Not so much with the smartTV app.

Since it doesn't appear that I can add this to an existing subscription, if I cancel my subscription, will I be able to activate immediately again using the same account or will I need to create a whole new account?
In my experience you have to use an account that hasn't had an active subscription for awhile. So if you have an inactive account with a different email try that or create a new account.

I usually get Hulu and Disney+ together but this past year they seemed to have combined content, right? Where they have Hulu content on Disney+.

Can't remember if that content sharing was in one direction only, i.e. Disney+ getting Hulu content, or both directions.

If it's both directions then there's no need to get Disney+ add-on. But now that I'm saying it, feel like they must've done it one-way only, from Hulu to Disney+.

Can anyone confirm?

Edit:
just googled the question and found the answer on the Disney+ Help Center [disneyplus.com]

Can I stream Disney+ content on the Hulu app or website?
You can continue to enjoy the Disney+ library of shows and movies on the Disneyt app or website. This content will not be available on Hulu.
So it is only one-way traffic, Hulu to Disney+ and not both ways.

Just be careful, Discover might close the account. It's not common but fyi there has been at least one report of account closure while using this loophole. See link below

Didn't have to use incognito but did have to use a completely different email and cc.

I normally rotate between 2 email accts and the acct that hasn't been used in over a year wouldn't work

Yea my old account didn't work, got an error that it couldn't be completed at this time. A brand new account gave me the same error before I could even input CC info
