For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

People complaining about the ads… they've gone over the top BECAUSE they are selling this for $1. They're winning anyway.

My issue isn't with the ads, it's how they cause my Apple TV to glitch and it'll freeze at the ad. Then I have to exit the app to come back to the show and I have to watch the ad again before moving forward. It happens almost every day.

Does this freeze only happen on AppleTV?

I was paying $79 for 3 years Disney plus when they first started. Than after three years, $129. Than $179. Enough is enough so cancel. Thanks goodness for $2.99 a month for Disney plus and hulu plus. $35.88 a year is such a great price. Disney is pricing out a lot of people. Hopefully a lot of ppl will say enough is enough for high prices.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

Would not work on current account, had to use old account. Sucks to lose Disney with no ads but $10/mo price difference versus full price.

It worked. Had to create new email address as well as use a different credit card. This is a yearly thing in our house.

PSSST: That's EVERY streaming service. The most profitable model is....wait for it...EXACTLY like Broadcast TV in the 1980's. The services will continue to contract until there are only 5 or so choices, just like it's 1985!
Fantastic that we live in the future with economic models from the past...

Nah. He simply stated how many accounts were subscribed to the ad-tier level, well % of accounts anyway which allowed for people to get concrete numbers because they usually only give 'total subscriber' numbers not breakdowns.

Shouldnt they be paying us for watching their endless ads?

Tried to watch an episode of Married with Children, it is a 15-minutes episode. Got pushed to watch 5 60-second ads
Unless they edited it just for Hulu content, episodic TV is 22-24 minutes for a 30 minute episode.
And 5 minutes of ads was standard when it aired on Fox. SO, you are paying for what people used to get for "free". Yay?

Canceled last year's Hulu deal in October, so it's been over 30 days. When I signed into my account, it only offered full price deals. Clicked on OP's link and was offered the .99 deal. No new email or payment method required. Thanks OP!

That time of year again. Add a number to the end of your email address. Clear your cache and cookies. Add a new payment method. Then watch Hulu again.Learn how to use a router to block all incoming ad traffic. Google the method.
Hold on a minute! So if I used something like PiHole, do the ads stop? I've had instances where services fail because its expecting an ad (like it goes to a black screen), what method do you use?
