For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

Do I have to cancel the month before my last billing cycle to keep the deal? I wanted to cancel early so I wouldn't forget to cancel on the 11th month lol.

This is like getting back together with an ex, who was an ex for good reasons. Why are we watching ads again? Just say NO.
Let's face it, a $1 a month is essentially free. If a $1 a month is going to break anyone's bank account then they shouldn't have any streaming service and they probably shouldn't even have the internet. Now, would I pay full price for Hulu with Ads? No I wouldn't. But if it's essentially free I'll take it for sure. Not to mention the fact that we live in an age where almost everyone is constantly distracted by their phone's. When the ads come on I find myself doing something on my phone for 90 seconds and the ads fly by.
And this Hulu deal, year after year, is one of the most popular deals on Slickdeals. Probably in the top 5 most popular every year so anyone who doesn't think is worth is is definitely in the minority.

I'm still hanging on my $13 Hulu with ads + Disney Premium. Amex still refunds me something.

I have the same problem. Got the bundle. Don't even see a Hulu icon anywhere on the Disney app. Tried logging onto Hulu directly but it did not work. Disney email acknowledgment says I have HULU. Anyone have an answer?
Ok. Got a Hulu email about 1 hour ago. Logged in through Disney and all is well.

Thanks for the deal. I just cancelled my yearly Disney+ alone with no ads renewing in December for $159.99. I can deal with a few ads.

Ugh, I currently have Hulu with ads/Disney+ without through Verizon PlayMore plan, but I'm pretty certain I'll be changing carriers because Verizon hiked my bill for no reason at all.

Can I just set up a completely separate Disney account to take advantage of this for when I drop Verizon, or will they figure out I have two accounts?

Because companies screw put their customers. Have you not followed the pricing history on nearly every product or service.
I'm all for companies making money as long as they are giving out a good product or good service. But to keep raising prices and providing subpar service or products that's ridiculous. Especially when they are bringing in record profits.
I get it, they need to make money in order to stay in business but if they are making money without any regard to their customer base then no. I don't want them to be making money hand over fist.
Take disney+ for example. They have a few good shows, but then you pay and they remove some shows because it isn't profitable enough for them. Really? Your losing that much you have to get rid of some shows? With no options for people to watch it later. Or buy it because they won't release physical media for streaming only shows.

Or take disneyland for instance. They've increased prices yet removed so many perks. For the longest time they removed parades and meet and greets yet their pricing went up not down. They aren't adding value but taking value away. you're paying more for less.

So in a way to best respond to your comment. It's all about what you perceive is of value to you. If you think paying them a fee so they can generate even more money off of you by wasting your time to view ads and provide mediocre service. Then great. It works out for you. For me too many companies are putting out crap that I don't feel is worth it.
To each is own. Good luck and enjoy.

added: at least YouTube provides their videos/service for free. you just have to put up with watching an annoying amount of ads for that service. but with other services... imagine paying $6 -$8 a month and still end up watching that many ads. yeah no. not for me.
Youtube doesn't pay to make movies and tv shows. You're comparing apples to oranges.

I just tried to activate this with an old account that I had used previously, and which has been unsubscribed for greater than 1 month. It still told me that my account is not eligible for this deal.

I had two previous accounts that haven't been used in over a year or two and it still wouldn't give me the 99 cent promotion. Kept forwarding me to a $9.99 page. I made a new account with a different email and got the promotion. Hulu with ads isn't worth more than 99 cents.

People on here: "WHY CAN'T WE HAVE HIGH QUALITY CONTENT AT A $1/MONTH AND NOT HAVE ADS THAT WE HAVE TO WATCH AT THE SAME TIME??"

Uh, maybe because it costs money to produce quality content and your measly 12 dollars a year isn't going to pay those bills? Sheesh. The Disney Channel in the 90s was like 20 dollars a month and it had ads. Chill.
