For awareness, the reason you'd pick up this charger over some of the alternatives are twofold:
It and the Tesla Universal Wall Charger are the only ones that can readily swap or inherently support both connector types (NACS and J1772). The Tesla one has an adapter built in, this one you can swap the cable with a $200 kit.
Because ChargePoint is largely a commercial brand, they have already done the legwork to get on power company incentive programs in a lot of places that Tesla and other consumer brands haven't.
Slightly better than that I bought it at, but to me there is one reason to buy beyond it being a more well known brand: You have a local incentive that makes it cheaper than another brand. This model supports OCPP, which made it eligible for a higher rebate (1200 vs 900 Austin Energy) on the overall charger install.
I already have the Chargepoint app and them throughout the city. Minor but nice to keep it simple, too. If I hadn't had the incentive, I would have just bought the Emporia or one of the Autel deals.
Tesla universal is well reviewed but way more expensive than needed IMHO, and doesn't have a plug-in option, if that applies.
$200 adapter kit seems like overkill for this CP; an adapter is half of that, and replacing the full charger isn't that hard either. Maybe if it was $50 but $200 is pretty wild for a cable change.
If there's three cars using this charger, will it provide a breakdown of each car's electrical usage?
No, it does not. I'm a bit surprised and expected more from the app. It charges the car, but it's off on estimated cost and it doesn't know which car it charged.
Good price, but note that while it is Prime only and supposedly returnable until Jan. 31, it is sold and shipped by a third party that may have different return requirements, etc. (To clarify, Spreetail and Chargepoint work together, but it is still not a direct from Amazon transaction.)
