no the guy who posted earlier (but deleted it?) is right. you should get an HBX for a bit more which are repairable and much more reliable/durable, I am returning this Walmart truck due to overheating issues in 70 degree weather :| . here is an HBX for a bit more that will be much better: https://a.co/d/8SbbVMo

EDITED: came back to delete this post recommending this car as when I first had it in cold (50 degree) weather it worked great. As soon as I used it in 70 degree weather it overheated in 3 mins and went into limp mode. I am returning it and getting the hbx I recommended below.

You mean it's performing bad in warm weather? I thought it's going to be other way around

I don't see any way to do that. The plastic body cover is covering the battery swing out door. How are you doing it?
Ohhh you mean the body plastic! That doesn't have screws it has body clips. That's just every hobby rc. The actual plastic piece holding the battery down swings out.

Yes it overheated in warm weather. It was very happy at 50 degrees.

Did you figure out way to swap battery without removing the body cover ?
I did not buy this model, but all recent cheap R/C cars has this weird design. Why can't we just plug in a USB cable into the Car...

because you swap out the battery multiple times per use. each battery only lasts 15-20 minutes. so you go through 2-4+ in a single session. Clips are the best way to secure the body plastic that will take hard hits, without much effort. and its not a "cheap RC thing," Cheap RCs have usb ports. hobby-grade RCs use body clips and swappable batteries, which also mean they are easily repairable if a battery fails.

Whoever came up with the concept of having to remove a screw, to open the cover, and remove the battery in order to charge it needs to be punched in the face.

Unhinged much? Lmao

The VS image is laughable. Trying to sell brushed motors as better than brushless. Hard pass.
That was a REALLY weird comparison image. It's like they forgot which car was theirs, repeatedly showing where they replaced steel with plastic and other downgrades.

Batteries do better in cold weather (less energy lost to wire resistance). As wires heat up, they increase resistance, which heats them up more. The increased drain can also heat up your battery. So it's a positive feedback loop of increasing heat and power draw.

I bought this and received it a few days ago. I'm pretty impressed with it given the price. Has fully proportional steering and throttle, and solidly built. We crashed this thing many times and no issues at all. Plenty fast and I like that it's small enough that you can use indoor yet also works well outside. The turning radius is tight and it is very responsive. Great for terrorizing pets and children.

Then why does most car battery need jump start on winter cold weathers?

It's very well known and presented electric car data that battery performance is better in cold weather.

That would have to be a different issue. Maybe the cars are sitting too long unused? It could be a chemical issue of the battery acid freezing? It's not a physics issue with resistance in wires though.

I have seen cars in regular daily use experience this issue

None of my biz but....I think since the invention of batteries it's well known cold is the worst environment for their operating range.
