I just bought this on Amazon for $100 last week. Will Amazon credit the difference? The first Amazon associate I spoke to said I have to return it and buy again but that makes zero sense. They didn't seem to know what in the hell they were talking about at all.

Amazon some reason have no price match choice. only way is to buy the same at lower price and return the earlier one.

this option we can not use many times, as Amazon tracking the returns count by account.. so we have to mindful while returning...

Got this last week at the same price and it's been really good so far. Both iPhone and Apple watch tap work with no issue.
Our landlord had a fingerprint smart lock installed (not Aqara) and it was a pain to use. I guess our fingers get dirty while being outside so a lot of time it wouldn't read. That's why I picked U50 over U100, though I don't know if Aqara's fingerprint reader is better.

That's amazon's rule. they don't price match. U have to return the item and buy another for cheaper.

I have this lock for about one year, just replaced batteries once. Fingerprint works amazing. No complaints so far. Works great.

I think that's correct for the Alexa and Google home, but the manual specifically says you need the hub for Alexa and Google, but makes no mention of needing a hub in order for Homekit to work.

Add the Device to HomeKit (for iOS users)
After the door lock is powered on for the first time, click "+" at the upper right corner of the Apple Home app in the iOS, select "Add Accessory" or open Aqara Home app. Tap "Bind HomeKit" in the "General Settings" column of the setting on the detail page of the
door lock. Scan or manually input the HomeKit code as prompted (HomeKit code can be found when you open the battery cover of the indoor door lock). Then add users according to the instructions. HomeKit only supports the lock and unlock, smart automation
setting and Apple Home Key.

I would be very interested in hearing that I'm wrong from someone with direct experience.

I just bought the U100 and it doesn't use the hub for HomeKey.

Just a difference between the u100 and u50 is no fingerprint sensor and the u50 can be rekeyed.

Devil's advocate, but which is worse? China stealing all your personal info (Eufy) or American companies collecting info to sell you out to your own government?

I am looking at it from reliability perspective. If it fails to automatically lock your door, or there is a bug that unlocks your door... These no-name companies come and go. Do you think they care about software quality?
