I have both. My Shark is downstairs where it is predominantly tile. I had read that the Shark mop function was decent, but from my experience it's so-so. It reciprocates left and right a bit, which helps a bit, but don't expect it to make your floors shine. And maybe it's just my unit, but I have to soak the rag underneath it before it runs otherwise it'll stay dry. On top of that, it'll run dry eventually regardless. Might be an issue with my unit specifically though.

As for the Q5 Pro, its vacuum is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Shark. It has two spinning brushes on each side, and two roller brushes. Suction seems stronger too. Great for pet hair. I haven't used its mop function so I can't speak on that, but from what I've read it's also nothing special. Its Lidar system seems more robust too, you can actually see its track on the app as it's running. The Shark doesn't do that.

All-in-all, the Q5 Pro is a way better vacuum in my opinion. Thinking about picking up another one to replace the Shark since it's on sale right now.

That exact question is why I posted this deal...hoping to get opinions.

I know there is debate on this but my only hesitation with roborock is their supposed ties to xiaomi and the security concerns there. I don't wear tin foil hats but do want to be cautious 🧐

The brush on this one won't get tangled as easily, better for houses with pets. Roborock has a better app and it's just smarter overall. The Q5 pro is the better vac if you don't need to worry about hair tangling in the brush of you don't care to clean the brush yourself.
No idea how the mopping features compared.

I bought this and like it. The object detection is kind of laughable but it cleans the hair off the floor well finds the base and has been mostly hassle free(just the app as mentioned). I would buy it for simple areas AKA not a lot of obstacles.

Isolate it on a vlan/network that does not have access to your home vlan/network. If you want to go full tin hat, get a cheap phone to run the app from that has -0- access to any of your data.

I have this vacuum, got it from Costco several months ago.
  • "Lost localization" is a common error. I have no idea what causes it.
  • Unlike some robotic vacuums, it can't show you the live location of the robot on the map.
  • It can be a bit aggressive with bumping things, but not terribly so.
  • The battery is easily replaceable.

Overall, I plan to return it and replace it with a better option.

Are the pricier Roomba models worth the extra coin? not the crazy expensive ones, but the mid-range units. In a buy once, cry once sort of way.

Have this model, like it quite a bit. Got it on sale a year ago but not this cheap. I don't bother with the mopping, but for the price it's a great robovac. It picks up a lot and only had trouble fully getting cat hair out of a very dense area rug we have. I rarely have to vacuum with the full size. I like that it doesn't have cameras on it. I do have to turn all the lights on in the house to help it detect objects better.

I purchased this a while back. The vacuum does ok, but the mop portion stopped working just after the return period ended. Wouldn't recommend.

I have a Shark Martix Plus 2in1 but haven't used the mop yet. The vacuum itself works pretty good. Does a good job emptying the canister. My issue is with the app. You cannot set a schedule for different rooms. The schedule can only be setup for the whole house or nothing. Not a huge issue. The battery has slowly degraded. I've noticed before I would be able to vacuum my living room and kitchen all in one go. Now it has to dock and recharge a bit to continue.

Not a fan. Mine ran 5 times and 5 times it didn't return. It ran out of battery and didn't return itself 3 of the times. And the other 2, it got stuck with wires under a desk. It just lodged itself and the wire wasn't sucked up. It was like driving up a curb and not being able to get off

How well does shark do the "mopping" tasks?

Their self emptying vacuum bots have worked great for us, but skeptical of the mopping functionality.

Anyone that has looked at the better names can give us a basic understanding will we be satisfied with its abilities, or look elsewhere if we are interested at a mop bot?

How well does shark automate that functionality? Any details they get wrong or struggle with?
