OK this post is very misleading on its face. It lacks detail that, after purchasing the machine and registering, you need to spend $100 on coffee to get $25 cashback, up to $200.

I have the pro version of this and its been almost 3 years without any problems as well. I love it and use it daily. Drip coffee tastes horrible now. If your new to this, it will take you some time to learn some things like steaming milk and grinding beans to get the right ratio. Cleaning is easy with the right tablets to flush and powder to descale. My sister tried it and stopped drinking starbucks.....

I use mine for 8 years. No issues, except cleaning doesn't really help anymore, leaves a bit of an aftertaste. No mechanical issues. Best coffee for the price. Use it several times a day. We have a large family, make about 6 coffees per day. Trick is to use filtered water.

One of the solenoids blew out on mine at year 6. Replaced the entire solenoid block, cost about $100. Wasn't too terrible to fix. The machine seems pretty well built, now that I had an opportunity to take it apart.

Have these been switched to 9 bar OPVs? The older one I have is 15. Is the water pump still operating at 15 bar?

EDIT : Nevermind, it's in the Amazon description, 9 bar OPV with 15 bar pump. So it will waste a lot of water.

TjMaxx has these for less all the time, for example the Barista Express is typically $499

I've had mine going on year 7 and no issues along the way. I do the cleaning and descale cycles per the manufacturer and only used filtered R.O water since day one.

Yup I too replaced the double solenoid in mine, easy to fix and well built… totally agree

I have both this model and the Barista Pro. The Pro is absolutely worth the upgrade imho.

The Pro model has a better grinder, includes a portafilter cover (to minimize the grinding mess) and is far more forgiving. The savings from not wasting beans attempting to properly dial in shots on the Express will pay for the extra $$ to buy a Pro. For me, before I've had coffee is about the last time that I want to be frustrated trying to pull a decent shot. I bought the Express five years ago and still really like it, but the Pro is significantly better.

It's $499 in TJMaxx but a big YMMV. The barista pro also priced $499
