Neither webpage mentioned weight so I can only estimate the Envy 16" is 4.8lb and MSI is 3.5lb [based on someone's input]. I see two customers on bestbuy complaining about the weight in their reviews. So if you are going to need to be mobile a lot, go for a smaller size. If you need a bigger screen so you can see better or more technical or text content, 16 is better. I ordered a Dell 16" 2-n-1 but that's for reasons besides teaching with it as a digital white board and large battery so I will have to be OK with the size and weight.

About specs, Envy comes with later gen Ultra 7 155H processor but the two CPUs are on par with each other in performance and base power consumption. The graphics on Envy's 155H is about twice as good as that on MSI's 1360P if not more. You should be able to play some decent games on Envy but not on 1360P. Intel makes both CPUs but it has really done a great job with Ultra 7 and up from 14th gen compared with all earlier gens. I have a core i9 10900K, which is a beast of desktop CPU. But its graphics are so bad that without a dedicated video card, I wouldn't want to do any gaming. I have a decent video card in the machine just to make sure I can work properly on a 1440P display with 144Hz refresh rate.

I own this with the same specs, it's an amazing machine, very light weight and looks sharp. I can run multiple Adobe programs at the same time and mine came with a pen for digital drawing.
I'm a UX designer, but originally got this for finishing my graphic design degree.

This looks tempting how does this compare to the ASUS Zenbook Q425MA-U71TB other than the obvious 16gb to 32gb of ram. How do the MSI and ASUS compare built quality wise?

Please forgive the (probably stupid) question but I upgraded the SSD in my current laptop with this: WD_BLACK 4TB SN850X NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280. Can I put it in this computer? Is it compatible? TY in advance. Happy Holidays!

I have close to the same model of this and i love it except for the fact the metal casing is a huge fingerprint magnet and hard to keep clean bc of it. I can appreciate the idea but it can be a tad embarrassing to pull it out in a meeting when it has spots all over it.

I would personally consider 16gb to be below minimum spec these days. Both my 4 year old desktop and my 2 year old work laptop "idle" at around 22gbs memory usage. Thats basically just Windows, your typical background services, and a web browser with a few tabs. Having less means the computer is suffering performance in order to read/write to the "swap" file.

Thank you for your response. I pulled the trigger on this one. I have looked at MSI units for a while but haven't went forward with one till now.
