Regarding the weight, 70+ lbs is pretty typical for a 3 ton jack, it's not really meant to be carried around.
A 2 ton jack would be better for that, but they're not nearly as stable or strong as a 3 ton.

I had to drive my Honda Accord tires up onto small blocks first, to get enough clearance to slide the jack beneath the main front jacking point . It only missed by like 1/2".

It's a perfectly good serviceable jack, just not ideal for 'low-ish' cars.
