Woot has a spit shine policy. Sometimes you get more spit than shine.

I've gotten stuff from them that was downright abused and broken -- and it was their own company's products too! Two different kindles (refurbs with batteries that didin't last 30 mins of use), several echos (dead on arrival), etc.

Personally, I wouldn't trust them. I'd rather spend a token amount more for an entry-level M4 "I"-Pad that's brand new, get it with Apple "Care". Even if it's a lesser spec'ed model, it still has a faster CPU and better screen.

Just got this in the mail today. Came with an afterparty box and 3rd party charger/cable.

The tablet had an engraving of the previous owner (nothing offensive) and small scratches/dings around the frame. There is a larger 3mm ish scratch on the top right corner in the bezel. No major scratches on display that would hinder the use.

Heard horror stories from the site but so far satisfied. Still will play around for next several days to see if any issues arise and decide to keep or not.

EDIT: downloaded a battery shortcut and it says 90% capacity with 50 full charge cycles, lasts couple days of "regular" usage but charging still takes a while. In the Apple account this was named as a personalized Ipad so the prior owner bought directly from Apple hence the engraving.

I sent pictures of the scratches to Woot and their staff were friendly and offered a partial refund which I will likely take unless surprise issues come up over next few days. Overall tablet is not the best condition compared to others who got mint or excellent, but far from the worst condition I've seen

Too bad I returned my Brand new 2022 128Gb cellular M2 model from woot last month...
The $350 for a KB turned me off and made me realize what a waste of money this ipad is for most people...
I mean... you don't Have to buy the official outrageously expensive keyboard. There are other options, and if you consider bluetooth, the choices are countless.
the thing that kills me about it, is the lack of mouse support. you can connect a mouse, but it behaves like a finger. where-as on android, a mouse behaves like an actual real computer mouse. very useful. but I like ipad aspect ratio, and there are a choice few apps that have no alternative on android.
Plus, it's really difficult to find a good android tablet with unlocked cellular! there are trash ones on amazon, or the Samsung are only sold tied to a carrier. It's all rather lame.

The M1 iPad Pros has more power than any regular user needs. I personally think this is a great deal. I just purchased a used one with 1TB for $500 and same cellular version as well.

I'm curious if this would be eligible for apple care though. I think refurb from apple does. Is it the same for third party refurb?
Where'd you nab it for $500?

I would buy an air and be happy for content consumption, but I want the better speaks in the iPad Pro; Thus I keep on trucking with my 2017 iPad Pro. Come on Apple upgrade the air speakers or drop the price of the pro so I can upgrade.

No.I consider AppleCare+ a waste of money for most consumers. Buy a new device with a good credit card, and you'll get a second year of coverage (extended warranty) for free. My Citi card actually adds two years. There are some exclusions, and I believe refurbished products may not apply when it comes to a credit card's extended warranty.I almost never buy an extended warranty or "service plan" although I still get road hazard "certificates" for car tires. Ran over too many screws in the past, so I seem to be ahead so far on that.
I disagree. $7.49 per month for Apple Care+ is already worth it considering battery degradation every 2 years or so. Battery replacement alone cost $129. Assume you use this so much that your battery hits 80% in two years, that will cost you $180 total from Apple Care+. $0 fee for the $129 battery replacement means your apple care only cost you $51 for 2 years.
Additionally, Apple Care+ for iPad extends coverage to two additional accessories such as Apple Pencil and/or Apple Magic Keyboard.
Apple Care for iPad Pro definitely one that is worth it. I had my iPad replaced (not repaired) after the screen stopped responding possibly due to being stored in a backpack and was a tight fit. Apple replaced it no questions asked after they diagnosed the problem.

Apple Care allows you to be careless and not have to "baby" the battery. Charge it and use it as often as you like because you wont have to pay for battery replacement.

Is that extended warranty covered by incident? For example drop the phone on asphalt without case.

Agree.. I bought it first and then was trying to find a use case for me with multiple thinkpads and macbook airs at house..

LTE big tablets are rare in android world. If ever you gonna use any tablet as a semi replacement, KB and mouse experience is a must.. which I doubt any apple KBs come close to. Only thing that came close was Lenovo Tab extreme 14 which has a fantastic KB but the tablet is now discontinued..

I'm still trying to manufacture a use case for ipad pro 12.9 but just can't find one...

I've wanted a 13" ipad for a while. Is this a better bet than using OfferUp…?? Are there any recent deals "better" than this (just based on screen size)?

Most people never even consider swapping the battery on an iPad (mainly a design issue). It's a great option for smartphones IMO. My last iPad Pro went 6 years and I didn't replace it because of battery degradation.

I am seeing a bit of degradation in my current 3 year old iPad Pro, but not enough for me to be overly concerned about. Also, the 2 years for AC+ is from day 1 so it overlaps with the basic warranty period. You might not even get your free battery swap within 2 years.

Now you're telling us that if you buy the overpriced accessories, your AppleCare+ becomes a better value too. Big Grin Meanwhile, any good credit card provides a 2nd year of coverage for free anyway.

I will say that the accidental damage coverage could be useful for some folks. A deductible does apply to claims.

I was thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but I found the following answer from Woot staff in the comments on the listing:

The battery is tested to make sure it's at about 80%.
Apple's estimated price to replace a battery on this model of iPad is $119, so I figure the effective price of one of these might require an additional $120 + tax.

To each their own. I purchased my iPad used and came with the 2 year Apple care. Just about a month before the 2 year mark, the iPad touch screen started acting up and would click things on its own. Brought it to Apple Store and got it replaced it no questions asked.

Credit card would not have covered it since I didn't pay for it with a credit card and let alone it was purchase used.

But to each their own. On other devices that you don't use often, sure it's not worth it. It was worth it for me to continue the plan monthly given the issue I had. Gave me peace of mind and used my iPad more often because I'm not scared to break it.

Yea. Additionally, I don't think these iPads are eligible for Apple care. Only refurb from Apple directly are.
