Good price for a model that's made in Japan compared to their models made in China.

I don't understand why you received a down vote! Your comment was very helpful. This price is very affordable for made in japan product. Only issue I have with this Zojirushi model is the Teflon (nonstick) inserts which I dislike. I have to keep buying new inserts annually due to my household being scratch prone. I think I will grab one.

Where are you ordering the new inserts from?

Kick them when they scratch it! We use pretty much just those rippled plastic paddles that come with rice cookers and InstaPots. After empty, because we ate it all or I put it into compost, I let it dry and the starchy bits just kinda wipe out. Take away the forks! Smilie

Been searching for a rice cooker. Would you recommend this over other brands/deals that have recently come up?

Zojirushi is easily Top 3, arguably the best brand of rice cooker. The Japan made models, in particular, are known for being extremely high quality.

My Zojirushi is the first one I've ever had, but my 3rd rice cooker overall. Everything about the experience of using it is just better.

https://shop.zojirushi.com/pages/...ccessories

Zojirushi offers replacement parts on their website. Just search for your rice cooker model and the replacement parts should appear on the product page. If you're in Canada, I believe they have a different official distributor.

Last time their inner pot was out of stock and their support was very helpful in giving me a estimate on when the next batch was coming in. They also emailed to remind me when it did come in.

Would the induction be better? Read this one is partially overkill if you're not using the slow cooker.

I managed to order this. What part are you referring to with the Teflon inserts? I went on the company's page where you can order replacement parts and wasn't sure which one. Can you link to it specifically?

I've heard induction makes better rice, but I have not owned one myself. So, I can't personally vouch for it. Though, on paper it makes sense to me, I'm not sure how much better it can be.

In terms of this model being overkill, maybe so, but a good deal like this on a Japanese made Zojirushi makes me not worry so much about that.

I paid more than this for my Neuro Fuzzy. So, I can see the merit in waiting for the model you want, and I could also see pulling the trigger on this deal.
