FYI, a set of black and color cartridges costs as much as the printer and contains barely any ink inside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOMjeCiMn8g (different printer model but uses same cartridges)
Looks like third party ink cartridge options aren't much more cheaper.
I would avoid this printer. If you print very infrequently, just use printing services at Staples, Fedex, local library, etc.
F'em for allowing all these junk printers to pile up
The cost of this printer is literally the same as just the ink.

I have a Canon MG2220 that I got a decade ago on a similar deal like this bc it was cheaper than buying ink carts for my old color inkjet. Similar deal. I use mine as a scanner and print to my Brother laser printer, I don't print color any more as the carts are stupidly expensive and dry up before you use them.

This doesn't have ethernet, but does have local USB which I would totally use rather than dealing with WIFI on low end stuff like this.

I'm not going to buy one, but I did think about it for a moment since ink is $50 for my current printer...... I have finally educated the mrs that color isn't necessary.

STILL, to those in need of a quick printing solution, this is a good/cheap option and I like Canon printers.

If it was $30 I would have bought a few !!

*When turned on, Canon printers have a routine ...
I recently found out that the clinking noise at the end is the cartridges dumping ink!!
(They claim it's to keep the nozzles clean !! )

Is this the one where they can remotely disable the ink cartridge even though it's full, when you cancel the subscription?

Same here. Bought it decades ago and using it as scanner only while using brother laser printer for all the printing work.
That laser printer costs almost zero , thousands of pages for $6 drum.

The less the cost of the printer upfront the more of the cost of the in cartridges on the backend. Good to see this as a disposable printer when looking at value.

For likely less than $34, hit up FB Marketplace for a used Brother All In One and buy cheap ebay ink.

I've been doing the syringe refills for years but finally just got a laser and haven't looked back. Even with the color ink, I couldn't get them to turn out correctly with refills. Black works for a while but it's still kind of a pain. You get get a good AIO laser for $100-$150. Can use generic replacement drums for about $7 each.

If anyone did the Dell / Alienware rewards check in for 5 days back in September, this printer on Dell.com will go for $3 .... (I had $40 dell rewards after doing it)
