I think the main difference is the noise level: 56225i is rated for 53dBA at 25% load, 56250i ($250) is rated for 65dBA at 25% load.

I have a previous version of this generator without the fuel shut off feature. Very satisfied with it. Busted it out from storage after 10 years following a windstorm and it started in 5 pulls. Buying another one to have as backup.

If that is really the only difference, it isn't as much of a sound difference as it might seem. Obviously, the quieter, the better. However, a 12 decibel difference is not even remotely close to being worth twice the price for 99% of people

this one is 10lbs heavier, and 10db quieter. You pick what's important. The other $250 one is twice as loud!

Fantastic, Got one Total: $268.74
Thanks so much for posting this, You made my day !

Note: the $250 one is also 2500/1900 and the amazon one is 2400/1800 but quieter
seems the cheaper one also includes an onboard hour meter and 3 year warranty that's missing on the Amazon version

12 decibels is quite a significant difference.

yeah, but 50-60dBa is considered moderate while 70-80 are listed as loud.
I have a small 1000w sportsman that's a rated 56dB and you can barely here it is running outside. But it's just not enough power for what i need to recharge batteries.

Yes you are correct. Decibel readings are exponential not linear

$250 on the Wen website seems like a screaming deal for a 2000W inverter generator.

It's good brand. I had different version of it. 2 of them worked fine for me. When I need more power sold them used and now I have bigger version of it still in the box for back up. In my first purchase I had some issue with one of it. Called customer service. They were very helpful and give me some directions. After didn't work out they ship me another one and return label for not working one. That's why I bought bigger version of it. Recommended brand

The $250 ones can be paralleled for more power.

I have two of these. Solid and run well. Be sure to test run them every couple months to ensure they work when you need them. Not certain this is a great price, but it is about what I've paid over the past few years.

The difference in noise levels between 53 dBA and 65 dBA is significant due to the logarithmic nature of the decibel scale. For reference:
  • A 10 dBA increase represents roughly a doubling of perceived loudness.
  • A 12 dBA increase (as in this case, from 53 to 65 dBA) is perceived as more than twice as loud.
