I have the original Lenovo Duet and a Samsung Galaxy A9+. They are similar devices in specs, storage, display, etc. But ChromeOS and Android are different operating systems that were made for different uses. These are my personal thoughts on owning and using both devices.

ChromeOS is a desktop environment and it behaves like one. Yes, you can use Android apps but primarily the OS was designed to use a keyboard/touchpad for web based apps. Getting access to desktop websites and typing is a huge plus on ChromeOS.

Android is designed with a touch interface and on-screen keyboard as its main input method. The apps are designed as mobile applications and it is much easier to navigate with a touchscreen on them. The interface of apps is touch friendly and easy to use.

It really depends on what you want out of your device. I like my Galaxy Tab as an android tablet, to watch media and play games. I like my Lenovo Duet as a tiny, highly portable Chromebook, to access/type emails, complete tasks that need lots of typing, or work related items. Both can do what the other one can. I just like using them best for what they were built to do.

Yes. It was recently launched and this is the 8GB model with a pen. Saw another post for $257.99 on eBay. Which is cheaper depends on discount stacking. I stacked Lenovo rewards for instant $10 off plus went through R***n for additional $31.80 cashback. Total comes to $233.19 + tax and $15 in Lenovo rewards for future purchase.

It's $257.99 if you buy it from Lenovo via eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156462015298

the ebay offer does not appear to include the pen (at least it is not mentioned). The version directly on the Lenovo site that is slightly higher cost, does say it includes the pen (aprox $40+ value I believe). that may make a difference to some.

I think both are good deals for this unit right now.

I talked to Lenovo via eBay and they did say it includes the pen. It's pretty much exactly the same thing on Lenovo's site if u follow the model number

The eBay Lenovo store at $257.99 is not an unusual discount price. If you have BOA credit card, you can use the Lenovo offer to check the price using their link. Incidentally, the price from that BOA offer is about $258.99 also. So, this seems like a typical price for this device.

I have laptops, standard chromebooks and tablets. I never use such a duet device before. I don't know if I should get this. For now, I am just doing research.

Decent deal for sure. I purchased mine through eBay. I'm also a chase freedom card holder which is offering a 5% cash back on purchases using PayPal. So it turned out to be a decent deal for me.

Off topic but just want to say thanks for taking the time to type this up. IMO this type of comment with personal/first hand experiences and knowledge of a product is a big part of what makes slickdeals great.

Is this CPU that good? Yes, better than the average Chromebook arm CPU, but is it better than a Chromebook plus?
