I'm hoping to see someone comment on how good / bad it is compared to a Nespresso OG Line and Vertuo line.
Nespresso OG Line: The OG machine is usually expensive and hard to find deals on, but the pods are cheaper since they're unlicensed and everyone from brands like Nespresso themselves (often the most expensive), Starbucks (less expensive) to lesser known / boutique coffee brands and white-label brands like Amazon Solimo, Target's etc make pods for them. So you have a huge variety and the competition keeps the price low.
Nespresso Vertuo line: The vertuo machines go for sale at $99 and sometimes even lesser, because Nespresso makes the money selling the expensive proprietary pods. I've only seen Nespresso themselves and Starbucks make pods for these and prices are around $1.50 per pod, but forces you to buy 10 pods per sleeve and multiple sleeves per order to get free shipping. This effectively means you either sacrifice selection, or pay more to get an assortment. They're also less flexible as you cannot brew a pod designated as 'Lungo' to espresso strength and vice-versa. Some argue that the coffee itself is slightly better from Vertuo line than OG line due to more grams of coffee per brew in pods and the brew method (centrifugal force vs straight-down water pressure).
If these,
1. Are at least half as good as the Nespresso OG Line, and
2. The pods sell for comparable price as OG Line 3P pods and
3. They have close to half the selection of variety as the OG Pods,
then I'm in @ the $50 price for the machine.
Instructions on how to use it:
1) plug in power or press one of the buttons once to wake it
2) replace pod and close
3) press one of the buttons once
4) wait patiently for it to go through the automatic programming to brew.
If it starts blinking a few times without brewing then it means you did not follow the above instructions.
