I bought this exact computer last week, it's a beast. This is the motherboard: https://www.asus.com/motherboards...-a-ax6-ii/

My 4070 Super is an msi (I realize that can vary)
Memory is T Force Delta 16GBx2 5200

I found a discussion of this pc on reddit. Here is what they said about the loudness.

"I have one, and the fan loudness is fixable. For some reason the BIOS setting has the case fans going at max speed all the time, so I just went in to the settings and set up a curve. Once I did that it's much quieter now."

That's the neat part. You can upgrade the wifi chip yourself with a desktop. Also, no one uses wifi on a gaming machine.

The Dell has a worse processor (not that it's bad, but you get the point), half the ram, half the hard drive space. You're ultimately paying more for the branding.

I don't have any regrets pulling the trigger on this one so far compared to the other deals I've seen since.
Unless they go for the 4070 Ti Super. Then, I'd take that over hald the ram, half the hard drive

Plus with various discounts and cash back options, you can get the Dell for $1000 (plus $100 of dell credit) before taxes so significantly cheaper than this one.

Yes, in the bios settings. Covered in an earlier post.
According to shajeel's recent post, you cannot change the fan speed through the BIOS.

The fan speed "can" be changed through the BIOS but the problem is the fact that the fans are connected directly to the PSU and not the motherboard. Because of that, any changes to fan speeds via the BIOS will not have any effect on the fans.
In order to resolve that you'll need to disconnect the fans from the PSU and then connect them directly to the MB and then update the corresponding fan curves to your liking. Depending on what MB is shipped with this prebuilt, it could involve getting a fan splitter.
In their post they also mentioned that they had run into this issue on a CyberPowerPC and not iBUYPOWER, so if anyone who has actually purchased this computer can chime in I think that would help.

shajeel's post is entirely irrelevant as he wasn't even talking about the system in this thread, but rather something else entirely from a different company. That's like saying you can't trust this system from Dell because this other random HP blah blah blah.

I just came back from Costco. They have this on the floor. The fans go into the mb, not the psu. Don't farking compare apples to oranges or A to B. It doesn't make any sense.

I picked this up today at my local costco. Used a bunch of gift cards and executive membership rebates I had waiting for a good deal.

Components that I could initially identify w/o disassembly

MB: ASUS Prime B760 M-A AX6 II
GPU: PNY VERTO OC GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GB
Memory: XPG DDR5 5200 Lancer Blade
SDD: T-force Z4A7
Power Supply: No labeling but 700W per box specs.

Fans appear to go to a secondary/sub/controller board which ties into the USB 2 header on MB as far as I can tell. I will update this thread once I fire her up and see what the fans do.

UPDATE: Confirmed that toggling the case fans to PWM mode (in the BIOS) quiets them down significantly.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but I have two concerns:

1) No liquid cooling - does anyone see this as an issue that has experience with this system? I9 seems like it would run a bit too hot without it.

2) Intel CPU degradation issues - does the update from Intel truly mitigate the stability issues this CPU had? Wondering if any AMD x3D deals will drop that are better.

It seems the fan noise issue can be solved, that's a plus.

Any input is appreciated, thanks!

was about to get this but not a Costco member. They want an extra $85. My membership expired in 2015. I and everyone I know have Sams club membership. Will try to find a better deal somewhere else.

Hmm, this is my 4th PC in the last 2 weeks and hopefully this is a keeper for years to come as this is a great deal. I had the Tracemesh for a week, (I7 14700F/4060/$1k). And yes, this one is going full blast with the fans. I changed the bios to silent to no effect. It's not as noisy as the space heater which I have right at my feet. No matter as this is a great deal and will likely future-proof me for a while. Hopefully someone will post a fix, whatever either rewiring or a new bios update as long as it doesn't overheat.
I decided to go into the store this am when it opened to get one while the wifey gets some grocery stuff. By the time we left some 20 mins later, there was only 1 left, with the tape a bit removed. I could have gotten it via delivery in a few days but I decided I'll get it sooner so I can set it up asap and not take a chance it be out of stock. Great deal, I just might take up gaming

Did anyone bite on this?:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/d...%25pVEN1=!

Half the ram, half the storage, step down with CPU, but has liquid cooling with bump up on GPU (4070Ti Super) and can be ~$200-300 cheaper than this deal with various discounts and cash-back (10% off coupon, 15% CB site, 5% CC CB)

Fan noise is holy cow. It's like an AC unit.

Easy fix.. and contrary to what all the randos said, is to switch the fan profile to PWM. The default is auto, and choices are DC and PWM.
Boot your pc. Spam the del button or f2.
In bios switch to adv.
And under fan settings just turn all the fans over to PWM from auto.

You'll notice the fan noise go away before you even to restart and save.
If you need help I'll post some pics.

Thanks for this. Helps with my decision.

Any thoughts on the cpu temps without liquid cooling present? That's the last thing holding me back.
