So I can't buy this and gift it to myself if I have ancestry currently? My membership expires Sunday.

This is good through December 3. Just let your current subscription expire on Sunday and then gift it to yourself.

This is what I get when I go to gift a membership. The drop down boxes let you pick a month and day (within 90 days of buying the gift) so it looks like you can definitely gift it to yourself and start it anytime within those 90 days. I just put one of my emails not associated with my current Ancestry account as the gift recipient (in case that matters.) I have gifted it to myself before and it worked...I just don't recall the details. Don't forget cash back sites. I haven't used them on Ancestry before but a couple of them appear to be giving some cashback.

If I want to trace my family back to when they first came to America (many generations ago), would this be helpful? Or is it more limited in its purpose? Or is there another product to do that?
