You are right. I thought "Inclduing White" is the same as RGB+W.

I thought about grabbing a set but there are plenty of reviews from people stating their lights only lasted one season. For the price they should at least make it 5+ years. Are there any alternatives with better quality?

Have a set going on three years with no issues. App is trash.

Does anyone happen to know if they tend to go on sale after Christmas? We ended up putting up the regular lights but would like to switch to twinkly next year. I'm wondering if I should buy now or wait until after the holidays and hope for a good sale.

I have a gen 1 string of lights that I bought in 2018, use every year and it's still kicking. Just bought one of these as well. Their hardware is high quality.

There will be deals after Christmas for these. I don't know how much better as the deals this year before Christmas seem pretty good. Just keep a watch out after the holidays, the deals will show up.

Any light can burn out, but these are LEDs, so not as often. Expensive because these are "smart" lights with mapping features and full control. Makes regular Christmas lights look like Stone Age wall writing.

The lights are great (I mistakenly splurged for the RGB+W because my wife loves real white lights, but as LEDs, these apparently don't count). But the criticisms about the app are understating it. Simply awful. I have spent three hours on it, and I still can't get it to adapt to my local network. Sometimes it won't even detect the device, sometimes it won't let me connect, and I can only connect to it directly. That means that everytime I want to change the appearance I have to switch my phone to the Twinkly network. I can't do a full scan of the lights around the tree, either. Really frustrating.

I was tempted to buy a second set, but I'm definitely not doing that. I'll give Twinkly a call and maybe they can walk me through it, but so far, I'm definitely underwhelmed. The basic patterns look all right but the fancier ones (like the rotating candy canes) look pretty bad. I don't know if that's because the app can't scan the tree without the internet or because it's just not that good.

Yes, and I've tried on all the 2.4 networks we have in our house. No luck with any of them, and the tree is in the same room as the router, so it's not a signal problem.

The "main" network does, although it's distinguished by having -5G at the end, but the IoT 2.4 networks are all uniquely named.

Amazon seems to have a $20 coupon for the RGB 400 sets right now, making them $69.99...
