Don't forget to disable discount lock. It no longer is a "locked" price but just renews at 10% off the regular price. You can do it immediately after you subscribe
Wired is $6 for print + digital for the year when you buy direct at wired.com
If you're considering buying multiple years, add 1 fewer years to the cart and you'll likely get an offer to get an extra year for 10% off.
Not offered on all magazines, but it was on 2 of the 3 I was purchasing.

The Us Weekly price appears to be for 6 months, not a year.

I just ordered friends of mine 2 years of some cheese magazine for $2. Will I tell them it was from me? No... but I will enjoy hearing about how they keep getting a magazine about cheese for the next 2 years. Completely worth the amusement value.

Good advice. Also double check that you can't get a better deal today direct from the magazine.

How can they afford to print and mail 1 year of Fast Company for $0.99? Is this a scam?

The ads. They need subscribers to sell advertising. The subscription price is just to hook you in and potentially get you to renew at the normal rate as well.

I bought their magzter deal 3 years for $100. It has Wapo and the New Yorker. No more trash.

Never tell them it was you. I did something similar years ago but today, they sell your information (if not already out there) and it could get out of control. Hopefully you didn't need to provide their email address as their spam will multiply faster than two engaging rabbits. Also, how did you pay (mine years ago was free). Won't they bill or charge your credit card if that was used the standard rate on renewal?

Correct. Ads are based on copies sold and there could be a subsequent audit ability to raise or lower the cost based on projections vs actual sales. Separately, they hope to catch you on renewal. Read the fineprint carefully and remember to either cancel in advance or contact them about their best then offer before it renews. I do this with my cable bill. ALWAYS speak to the retention or cancellation department if there is one. You get their best offers usually only from them.
