Think the difference between 175hz on this versus 240hz on some of the other monitors I've been seeing with these specs worth saving a buck and buying this one? Or should I spend more and get the 240hz monitors?

You will be plenty happy with this one. Everyone should buy an OLED at this point. The prices have fallen dramatically. I bought the Alienware with this panel 2 years ago at double the price and still don't regret it one bit. By far the biggest upgrade I have ever done to my setup.

Yeah I don't know how big of a difference it is from 175hz to 240hz. I assume it's diminish returns.

this monitor is Ultrawide 21:9 ratio. The 240hz monitors are 16:9 standard. Later 2025 the 240hz Ultrawide monitors will be released.

Already bought Alienware but curious.

Does text really look that bad on these OLED monitors? I've seen it mentioned a few times

Man I just bought the LG 34GS95QE 34-inch Ultragear OLED and I'm conflicted. I know the LG has a more encapsalting curvutre 800r I saw in person and liked. Not sure how this one looks as best buy did not have a display model.

Any opinions between the two? I know they're similar in specs, but would love to anyone's thoughts.

It was a crazy sale where Samsung let you stack a bunch of discount codes via their app if you were a new user. I got mine for $450. Some people got it as low as $420. It didn't last long.

I have a 27 lg oled and the 34 msi oled. I prefer the qd oled image over the lg oled.

Text looks fine, some people report a purple queue but you can fix that by adjusting your clear text configuration. Mine looks good out of the box however.

You can check out similar models at Best Buy if there's one in your area to see for yourself. IMO for basic web browsing it's fine, but for work purposes (multiple hours a day), there's no way I'd buy OLED; the text fringing would give me a headache.

Yeah, it really comes down to individuals. I'm looking at my AW3423DWF QD-OLED probably 10 hours a day for the last 2 years with zero issues. I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to image quality, and I don't see text fringing at all.

One thing to keep in mind for refresh rate on these monitors: OLED displays have an issue with black/near-black flickering when variable refresh rate (GSync/Freesync) are enabled and the frame rate fluctuates. So assuming you want to have VRR enabled for gaming, you also need to max out FPS (or set a lower FPS cap that you can max out) to avoid black flicker.

So if you mostly play easy to drive FPS games like CS:GO, Fortnite, etc. then a higher refresh rate could be useful. If you mostly play AAA games, you won't want to try to get 240hz/FPS anyway because even a 4090 won't get you there on max settings.

Avoid Samsung for monitors. If you require warranty service they are awful. It's a form submission and denial with no recourse.
