I just bought the standard one of these from Jewel-Osco for $1, it sucked compared to others I've had. I guess you get what you pay for with these...

Recent reviews are not good. So many were dry and hard.

Agree with previous comment. It's no good and it's made in Brazil. They just made the name sound Italian.

TY! I was about to order without reading reviews - especially recent. Thought this was a good gift idea for volunteers. . (Need about 15). That would have been awful!

There are a lot of Italians in Brazil. Could be an Italian family from there. Anyway, the brand that Costco sells (Madi) is way better, IMO.

This may be true but they still don't taste as good as the ones made in Italy imo

Is this like an Italian version of Pound Cake or Fruit Cake?

and it's made in brazil? what does that mean? there's a large population of people of italian descent all throughout latin america where this food is widely consumed.

1.25 each every year in the local grocery stores, Safeway, et al. The minis are much smaller than shown in the photo with the little girl. Basically, cupcake size. Not bad. Usually, for the standard size, 6.99/7.99.

Look in your grocery store, sold singly, usually a big display near the entrance or on end caps at this time of year. No problems with freshness.

I eat panettone from this brand all the time. It's actually my favorite, but unfortunately, the moistness of the bread is very dependent on how the vendor stores it, since the bread is just "sealed" with a twist tie or these metal plastic clips.
