Another change is the design aesthetic. The newer shaver is more modern in shape, pointy vs rounded if you look.
Note the newer styles also lock for travel. I believe you hold the power button longer to lock.

it helps to splash on your face, some e shaver solution. most common in drug stores is a green bottle. dries like acohol.

Eventually when the built in battery goes, these shaver can be opened out and battery swapped. I saw instructions on a paper document.
