Great deal, I believe was at this price in the past. I bought that and the Braun series 9 sport and ended up keeping the Braun for the cleaning station and more gentle on the skin. Panasonic was a touch closer but no matter what seemed to cause irritation to my neck. I also have sparse but tough and flat lying neck hair so the Braun seems better for that type of hair, though for non sensitive skin and really thick hair I think Panasonic would be the best option.
Hope that helps anyone looking to purchase!

Foil shavers aren't generally good at handling longer hairs, so you really need to shave often for them to be effective. You should try moving the shaver in different directions but don't apply much pressure to avoid skin irritation. Going against the grain of your growth can help, the Panasonic ARC5 is arguably one of the best electric shavers available. Try pointing your chin up so the skin on your neck is more taught when shaving there. Good luck, it can take some practice to find what process works best for each individual.

Does anyone know if there's any performance difference in the Arc 5 version in the OP and the version in the link below? I prefer the digital display and the power button lockout for traveling. Thanks!

My understanding is that the foil cartridge for the newer (non "digital") is an upgraded foil. That said, that cartridge does fit the LV65 version; I know because I have it.. The LV65 was the first shaver for the Arc5 in the U.S. I think the newer styles are cheaper to make vs the matrix LCD but they don't provide any less information; the LCD is simply nicer to look at.
Another change is the design aesthetic. The newer shaver is more modern in shape, pointy vs rounded if you look.

Note the newer styles also lock for travel. I believe you hold the power button longer to lock.

Are the old foil and blades from previous generations compatible?

I just got put on blood thinners for clots for the next 6 months. I bought this to transition from a blade shaver. How the heck do you get a good shave with this? It seems to really struggle getting some areas on my neck especially.
Against the grain and run multiple times. Works great for me

I'm probably not shaving enough times right now. With a torn Achilles, everything is such a chore right now.

I'm still using an Arc3 and it's been a workhorse for nearly a decade. It's like a 90's Toyota Camry the does its job well and refuses to quit. I've changed the blades a couple times but that's it. I thought about upgrading to the Arc5 for giggles but your comment just reminded me of why I should just stick with what works and save my money (for other stupid crap on SD).
Yeah, I gave up on the Arc3 because it could barely hold a charge for more than 10 minutes by the time I got rid of it. I think I had it for around 6 or 7 years. Everybody's face is different, so maybe the Arc5 would be ok for you. It's ok for me, but the Arc3 seemed better. But you're like me - if it ain't broke don't fix it. If there isn't much advantage to be gained, don't buy it. lol.

I have an ARC5 as well as a Norelco 9000 Prestige and I wouldn't say one's better than the other, they each have some advantages and tradeoffs. The Norelco feels more refined with less noise and vibration, it kind of whirrs compared to the buzzier Panasonic. The rotary design of the Norelco seems better on some longer hairs but the Panasonic sometimes can shave closer as long as you shave regularly. For more details on each company's shavers as well as differences between models I'd recommend checking out https://shavercheck.com/ .

it helps to splash on your face, some e shaver solution. most common in drug stores is a green bottle. dries like acohol.

i dont have a 'link' if u mean official link or a link to it readily being sold. It's a model not meant for us losers in NOrth America.

https://shavercheck.com/reviews/p...51-review/

let me know what you think. I love the metal finish. and this is a compact model.. with the SAME power...

nice for travel.

Eventually when the built in battery goes, these shaver can be opened out and battery swapped. I saw instructions on a paper document.
