The DiscoverIt card finally has value this quarter for those that also have Target and Prime 5% cards. (Amazon & Target are Q4 5% categories.)
Edit: I did a chat on discover.com and asked if I could get a retention offer since I was considering cancelling and immediately got offered a bonus 3% extra Cashback for three months effective the next day. Worth a shot to get 8% CB with your Discover card instead of 5!
Yes! For those who have the 5% Discover cash back, the offer this quarter is only for Amazon.com or Target (store only). The 5% cash back does not work on online Target purchases!
can we confirm it's in store. i am not seeing where it states it needs to be purchase in-store to qualify
Target purchases include those made in-store at Target, Target.com, or through the Target app. Purchases from individual merchants and stand-alone stores within physical Target locations may not be eligible for this promotion. Purchases made online or through the Target app from Target affiliates, individual merchants, or stand-alone stores may not be eligible for this promotion, including, but not limited to, targetoptical.com and targetphoto.com. Target and the Bullseye Design are registered trademarks of Target Brands, Inc. Listed merchants are in no way sponsoring or affiliated with this program. Purchases must be made with merchants in the U.S. To qualify for 5%, the purchase transaction date must be before or on the last day of the offer or promotion. For online purchases, the transaction date from the merchant may be the date when the item ships
The entire industry of business that sell 3rd party gcs have completey ended of buying them with their own store gift card since 2018 and it has never come back because of greed not fraud. Anti customer convenience.

It works online per the terms you copied, not sure why people are spreading in-store only
I have been making purchases and have been getting 5%
1. Can we use target gift card to buy 3rd party GC (such as apple, macy's ....)
2. Are target gift card safe w/o Fraud now? since we always saw the news said few bad guys took a lot of GC from stores (especially from Target) , then registerd un-activated card # and reseal putting back to stores. When buyer pay and activate cards, they drain out $$ right away ....so many ppl found balance is $0 when actual use....
two questions:1. Can we use target gift card to buy 3rd party GC (such as apple, macy's ....)2. That's what I do, after I use my gift card and am very careful to not remove too much of the scratch off when revealing the pin #, I put it back in the stack of the self-checkout line, the credits keep rolling into my target wallet, unbeknownst to the victims who do self-checkout and unluckily choose my use card to scan their new gift cards.

Moral of the story is to avoid buying physical gift cards, always order the egift card online, that way you won't get scammed by this easily abused switch-and-bait used-card-reload scheme.
Be careful if you buy physical gift cards and have them shipped to you. I've had two stolen from me while in route. One from Best Buy and the other from Target. All you receive is an envelope with a slit in it and the gift card missing. Seems these carriers know what to look for and if your package runs into the wrong package handler along the way you become a victim.

If you want physical cards, buy it in store.
