1) If you have any older non-smart TVs, it is nice to have this and do mirroring with your iPhone or MacBook.
2) I do a lot of presentations at various offices, etc. for work, it is nice to keep this in my backpack if I am just given a TV with a HDMI port (if whatever other setup they have isn't cooperating) and then doing mirror of items I need from my MacBook or demo an App.
