The only reason to buy the air over the pro would be because you absolutely need the computer to be the lightest/slimmest it can be. Otherwise it's a no-brainer to get the M4 Pro in my opinion.

They're insanely powerful. Buy a $2800 windows laptop and it'll have higher specs but will have way more bugs and not perform better than this bad boy + these things live forever pretty much

The fans will also run a ton more. Apple is killing it for compute per watt. They're just killing us on the RAM and SSD upgrades a bit (or a lot).

Thoughts on the 14 inch MacBook Pro m4 max? Seems like reviews think it's the weakest of the new releases but this "deal" also seems to be the best of the day

I'd be concerned about thermals on the 14" but if you went with the 16 m4 max it would handle thermals better. This was shown on a few YouTube reviews.

Yep, but people buying Mac know it comes with a premium. Plus, if people want the "best bang for the buck" for specs, gotta look elsewhere. I bought my 14" Pro with the intent to use MacOS for video editing and coding.

Even the Surface Laptop MSRP with 16/256 starts at $999 too. They retain less value than Mac products too.

I have yet to find a Windows laptop that doesn't fail or break in some way.
Apple products just work. No hassle, no issues.
And they're thoughtfully designed—unlike Windows that tries to force their shit products down your throat.

Yep Apples ladder for more RAM and storage is crazy, but hey for people that need that horsepower its well worth it
