I beg to differ. I have tried to activate a Mint 3-month SIM about 4 months after purchase, but the automated process errored out. I tried convincing Customer Service to assist, but was ultimately denied.

Hi BJ, thanks for reaching out about the Mint Mobile 3 Month 20GB/mo Plan SIM Kit. A Mint Mobile 3 Month 20GB/mo Phone Plan SIM Kit expires 90 days after activation. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Because it's a 3-month plan.

Sim kits directly FROM Mint expire 45 days after purchase. Sim kits from BB and Target are YMMV. If they aren't drop shipped from Mint directly, odds are good you can activate beyond 45 days. Many have.

Buy 2 sim kits. Activate one whenever you want with a new phone number. When activated, service starts and is good for 3 months. When 3 months coming to an end, activate second card with new phone number. Use for another 3 months. Rinse repeat. You must get a new phone number each time as you cannot transfer your first number to the second sim card. If you have google voice then it doesn't matter how many times you get a new number because you have your real phone number with Google voice and any calls just get forwarded to the new "fake" number you just got because you can change your forwarding number every time within Google voice so that you're fake phone number will ring when someone calls your real number. This way you can take advantage of any deal at any time.

Where did you purchase it from, directly through Mint?

Yeah they did it wrong they either ordered it directly through mint or someplace else but not from Target or Best buy because those places don't have this problem.

I don't understand why people are using any other provider. Mint is so cheap and we have had zero problems.

Why are people paying so much for Verizon or ATT???

Yup, so you've got a year. There are later dates too which you don't know until you open the package but they are at least a year out.

Exactly it blows my mind unless they just don't get any T-Mobile service in their area. Between mint or boost for me.

I think providers simply rely on lazy customers who don't frequently reevaluate their plans, pricing, or other competitors. Many customers simply set it and forget it, and the providers rely on it.

True. Very expensive ATT and Verizon. We can use that money in Groceries.

Just transfer your number to google voice and you will keep your number forever(or until Google voice shuts down) and buy more kits. Then forward. Free shipping with target circle card. I've been using Google voice for years this way and it's awesome. You never have to worry about transferring your phone number in and out of other carriers again to get deals. As a bonus you get to have the fake number as well to give out or use yourself because you can switch between phone numbers from the Google voice app on your phone.
I do this with all of my mistresses

Thanks for sharing, that's a good news.
I am not sure why others claimed only 90 days after we order it from Target... I wonder if I should get 4+, so that I can switch SIM cards every 3 months with my Google voice number.

Did you buy the SIM directly from Mint, or Target/Bestbuy? Thanks!

Lyca mobile has $5 for 5GB/month, but no hotspot, and not sure how it compares with Mint mobile.

That's a TMobile network date. All TMobile-related sims have a similar ~2 year date. This is separate from any carrier date.
