50 buck more than the i7 version at bestbuy and this come with a "free controller" which they claim is a 40 value. So if you want to consider that then it's only a $10 dollar difference. Great budget machine option

Looks like a good price on a 75W TGP 4060 laptop with a very capable if power hungry i9 CPU. You get good price and excellent CPU performance with decent gaming frame rates at FHD, just don't expect stellar battery life or a really vibrant screen and you won't be disappointed.

If you want better gaming performance or better battery life, I've seen deals in the last month with a meteor lake CPU (Core Ultra 7 155H) and a 4060 with the full 115W TGP for around $800-$900 and I anticipate that we will start seeing similar deals on laptops with the Lunar Lake CPUs in the new year.

Some specs:
(From NewEgg, because both BJs and Acer's website are not great)
https://www.newegg.com/obsidian-b...6834360352
  • CPU: Intel Core i9 13th Gen 13900H (2.60 GHz, 5.40 GHz Boost)
  • RAM: 16GB of DDR5-5200 RAM (Upgradeable to 32 GB or 64 GB)
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 4060 Laptop GPU with 8GB of Dedicated GDDR6 VRAM (Unclear what TDP, but according to the review around 75W Max TDP).
  • Display Type: 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) Widescreen LED-Backlit IPS Display with 144Hz Refresh Rate, 16:9 Aspect Ratio (250 nits, 56% sRGB)
  • Solid State Drive Capacity: 512GB (1 empty PCIe M.2 slot available)
  • Ports: 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB-C 3.2 (10GB/s, DP & PD), 3x USB-A, Ethernet, Audio.
Review:
https://laptopmedia.com/laptop-sp...-v-15-794/
From the review:
A good budget device with capable cooling, decent hardware for its class, a high refresh rate PWM-free IPS display
The GPU can sustain stable clocks and 63W TGP after half an hour of gaming
This notebook's 57Wh battery lasts for 7 hours and 42 minutes of Web browsing, or 6 hours and 40 minutes of video playback.

I read that the i9 has an irreparable CPU flaw. The i7 doesn't have it.
