It has been $1 less a couple days after Christmas
My annual post to remind everyone that virtually NO ONE needs any Turbotax version higher than Deluxe (and those that do already know it)

Although Intuit advertising will say things like Premier or H&B are recommended for people with certain circumstances the fact is that Deluxe includes all the forms you need.

In your case litesdsd, you definitely do not need anything more than Deluxe, it can handle brokerage/stock transactions just fine.

To avoid the usual replies every year, this only applies to the download/desktop version of TT, the online version of the service is completely different and the deluxe service offering online doesn't cover the same thing that the deluxe desktop version does.

https://turbotax.intuit.com/perso...e/desktop/

I'm self-employed and used Deluxe for years. SE do not need home & business, if you need the "extra help" that H&B claims to have fine but if your tax situation is the same as last year then paying more doesn't make any sense.

Ah that time of year when I see this deal and decide to wait for a few months hoping it's like $2-$5 cheaper around Xmas or early next year… yet stressing until i finally buy it because im worried they wont have another deal this year and I'll have to buy retail lol
Are you going to LOSE sleep over $2? Petty and ridiculous IMO

My order history shows when I purchased on 12/27 last year I was charged $37.53 after tax for TurboTax Deluxe Federal and State and $10 more for the bundled $10 gift card under a separate order number. So this looks like nearly same deal unless we're anticipating a bigger price drop than we saw at the end of last year.
I'm sorry but it is dumb to skip this deal for a mere $2 savings.

Waiting for fidelity deal
What is the criteria to receive the Fidelity deal?

I have never received much of a discount from Fidelity....

Wow... Dead already, must have had a limit, guess I'll look at the costco one now.
Costco has $45 deluxe Fed+State, with $10 in product credit. What is that $10 in product credit good for? I find it $10 Amazon GC useful.

Just looked it up, last year, from Amazon, TurboTax Business went down to $114 and Deluxe was $45 with a $10 GC. And the year before that, $103/$35 respectively with no GC.
I think these will go lower in the coming month or two.

Usually if you efile for your state and they charge a efiling fee you can apply that credit. But I'm sure most SDers mail their returns to their state to save on costs.

Haha yeah. I'm surprised people haven't invoked the "time value of money" thing too! If we wait another month not only will we potentially save One Dollar, but we will have also saved CENTS by not incurring the payment now and waiting till one month later, so our 46 dollars can be working and earning money for that extra month!

Slickdeals I tells ya

That said, apparently I missed the deal yesterday so I will indeed be waiting till Christmas time and hope to catch it again. I assumed the deal would go all weekend not just Saturday

Odd...I was charged only $35.99 and the $10 gift card arrives tomorrow. (I did not have any digital credits or anything applied) verified it is Deluxe Federal+State

In YOUR case, the opportunity cost does not apply. You have nothing to lose just by waiting lol.

I was simply calling out to those who HAD the 100% chance to buy. It was RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM (cap for emphasis)

Now those who chose to save $2 just by waiting for unpromising deal, FOS
