This laptop turns on, has a warranty, and runs windows.
For $100, if you expect anything more, then you need to take a hard look in the mirror.
I hope everyone is excited to read 80 comments ripping this thing apart when the fact that it exists is a miracle on its own.
If you're bothering to read comments, there is a 99% chance that you need something better than this.
"Is little caesars pizza good?"
"It is hot, and it is ready."
OK, I'll try again: crippled Windows S, no CPU fan and 4GB maxed out soldered-on RAM.
Numerous OB/mint options on eBay from reputable retailers (like VipOutlet - there are many others, of course), are much better deals for the money, than this fanless cripple here.
Not only are those 30% higher in cost, they are 1366x768 displays. Talk about being "crippled". So higher cost, and a display from 20 years ago.
And what exactly is your hangup on a fanless $99 laptop? It's got generally good reviews (and good reviews at a much higher pricepoint too), and literally one negative review about the fan. In fact, there are more POSITIVE reviews about this laptop not having a fan, than negative. If it were a significant issue, there'd be a lot more with overheated laptops.

This is a great deal if you understand what you are getting. The N6000 CPU is much faster than the other cheap laptops with the N4020. This has a 1080P screen+ NVME SSD slot + an upgradeable Wifi card.
4GB of non-upgradable RAM is obviously a limitation, but again this is $99. Windows will struggle with 4GB of RAM, but you could throw a Linux dristro on here and it will be 100% usable for several years.

...All good points! As well, the user could throw a free copy of Windows Tiny11 on there and then stay within Windows 11 and be useable with 4GB of RAM.

Wait I can upgrade eMMC to NVME? Main issue is how slow EMMC is, this could be a major snappiness boost if it can be replaced.
This is not a bad deal. Yes, there have been laptops with better CPUs for only $100 more, but they come with similar limitations or types of compromises (soldered memory, non IPS screen, Microcenter in store only, etc.). There are people selling 1366x768 laptops with Intel N4000 processors on FB Marketplace or Offer Up for similar prices. This is brand new and comes with 1080P IPS screen and a NVMe slot.
This is probably fine for people who just check their emails or some kid in grade school who needs something cheap for their homework until they buy something nicer later in life.
Wouldn't this be a perfectly usable laptop with ChromeOS flex or Linux like Ubuntu? Probably better priced and specced for most chromebooks for $150 or more?
I got this at BB 2 months for $109. It works. But is very laggy. The cursor can't keep up with my old slow fingers, so the next fx gets clicked while waiting. I went back to store, and the display seems to fx smoothly. Ive turned off all 8 tabs, and reset it. Just now, I ll let yall know. Otherwise it is a good deal for $100.
