The game seems interesting but MANY reviews say that you should expect to receive a resealed game.

Noticed this as well. I watched a video and looks like a fun game to add to the collection. Hopefully it does not come that way. Luckily with Amazon, I am not worried they would return it no questions asked.

One of the reviewers Tim Reynolds posted on Aug 7, 2024 the following reason on why the games may appear resealed. It's plausible and worth considering if you receive a "resealed box"

Quote :
Like others here I was disturbed to find the game appeared to be previously opened and resealed with tape. I requested a replacement and it arrived in exactly the same state. So I went to board game geek and found someone stating the game doesn't come sealed in plastic…

So out of curiosity I opened the second game. Totally new inside. The card packs are sealed in paper. So here is my theory:

The publisher is leaning into the nature theme. So they don't want to add more plastic to landfills. No plastic seal on the outside. No plastic seals around the cards. This is fine for a game that sits on a shelf at a target but in a warehouse where the temperatures and humidity fluctuate a lot it has resulted in the box warping and the original small circular stickers holding it shut breaking. This necessitated taping the box shut again.

So! If your box looked previously opened try fully opening it before returning it. Chances are it is still a new game.

I've seen a few games like this recently. No need to add all the plastic. I've seen some games where internally some components were wrapped in paper instead of plastic wrap.

I had ordered this game last month and got a resealed version of the game. I assumed it's part of the "eco friendly packaging" but didn't hurt the gameplay so I just went with it

Looks like even on BGA it's just how this game comes sealed. Two round pieces of tape, and paper-wrapped decks. Assuming people saw this and immediately thought it was resealed. It's part of eco-friendly packaging starting to take a bigger hold on the boardgame market.

I found it available for the same price as Walmart. YMMV.

Can confirm my amazon copy had broken round seals and a second rectangle seal on top of it. Sad to see it.

Did you get any discount for it being a resealed version? Might message Amazon and see what they do.

I think the round tape is fine but mine and how others mention show broken round seals and then another layer of tape on top that is rectangle. Clearly looks repackaged, not cool.

Did your have only round seals keeping it closed? Or were they broken and square tape ontop of it. Very curious if this spreads to other vendors.
