Said no one who has been victimized by a speed trap, or lost focus of their speed for a moment at the wrong time. Good luck with that.

This is my daily driver and it is a great choice and at a decent price. The arrows are worth the upgrade cost over the R3. Reduces the furtive searching and gives more peace of mind. Stay safe and don't drive agro, just because you have a detector. We are not invincible. It is simply another tool to aid us, just in case. Not a golden ticket or get out of jail free card.

I love my R7. Excellent deal if you didn't cop the October Woot deal. Main difference between R3 and R7 is arrows.

The mute button being on front of the r8 is almost worth $150 alone. The r8 also probably has more memory for gps auto lock out waypoints. If you can swing it, go r8.
That being said the r7 is pretty decent on its own for this price.

The R4 has better detection is my understanding. I actually went from R7 to R4 in one of our vehicles because of better detection, and the smaller unit. Ended up selling both and going to R8.

Yep. Lost focus one time. $400 ticket and insurance rates went up. Hadn't had a ticket in 30 years. This would have paid for itself in one go.
