TN display and 220 nits brightness make this a less than decent computer accept for the most basic of needs. These two "features" will be a nuisance to most users because the screen will look odd when the viewer is not aligned straight at the display and the low brightness capability will cause the display to be dim and washed out in normal room lighting.
The current price is $144.99 and I bought it this morning for the price you offered it .
This is a perfect laptop for its purpose, which is to replace elderly parent in-laws current PC which I think is a 486 and they have Windows 98 on it. I'll be giving them an extra monitor and an extra keyboard extra stuff like that as I have tons laying around the house so this will suit their needs perfectly..

If they had a 486 dx/66 this isn't a huge upgrade. 486SX/25 then it is a worthy upgrade!

1080p TN LCD is a privacy feature with a web cam shutter
wifi card is strong 2x2
Not too bad for a bare laptop for web, full size ports for college and school kids

if they have a 486 still today, don't just scrap it.
There is a niche market for retro gamers looking for OG vintage hardware - heck you might be able to recover ~50% of the cost of this laptop if you have a CRT in good shape too!
I'm curious if this setup would support Steam OS and/or Bazzite installation?
It could be an interesting project to make this into a Steam machine. While the unupgradable 8GB isn't necessarily Ideal - this price point sure is! https://store.steampowered.com/st...ildyourown https://bazzite.gg/
Only need a laptop to do minor word processing, excel, internet use, and looking at pictures on sd cards. No gaming. I'm upgrading a 7 year old HP
Thanks for any input.
Either laptop is good for what you need, according to https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-com...en-3-7320u you'll get better performance out of the intel but pretty much the same screen, keyboard, storage, memory, etc. Both perfectly capable CPUs that can handle general usage and then some.
for a datapoint, I got a 14inch Ideapad with a ryzen 5 5500u last year for $200 but I found its keyboard to be extremely flat, moreso than the previous 14inch Ideapad that I was using for university. Currently use a used Thinkpad (ryzen 3 4000 series CPU, 12gb ram) solely for its usb C PD charging (extremely convenient if you also use a usb-c phone) with a bonus of an IPS screen, so if you're willing to take a used and maybe slightly beat up device there's that option

Exactly what old people need. A monitor that healthy people with good vision can barely see 😜
Would this laptop be suitable for running cycling apps like Zwift and Rouvy? I would just run the program and output the picture via HDMI or Chromecast to my tv

Awesome deal, thank you! I'm going to use this for the sole purpose of printing shipping labels and will be hooking it up to a external monitor/keyboard/mouse. So, don't care about those being junky on the laptop, lol.
