Because when people see polyester they only see 100% plastic clothing. If they don't like the way it feels, that's one thing, but in reality, polyester and nylon and spandex are all very good at pulling moisture from your skin and evaporating it into the world. This works because the polyester fibers have a low surface tension and doesn't hold on to liquid molecules. Think about how water droplets might stick to the sides of a plastic bottle, but when you pour it out the water just beads up and slides out. Same thing when you turn it into clothing. It definitely has a place in an active person's wardrobe.

Isn't that pretty much a given based on the brand? Why even bother to click on the link.

I have several of these and love them. They are paper thin, so they will not keep you warm.
But great for warm days were you want to wear long sleeves.

Yea these are insanely thin and only good in the situation you mention. So not worth it otherwise

You give people too much credit. They're plastic = poison crowd. And think plastic = cheap. Plastic = china.

Polyester is the way to go. It's great for the gym. I prefer it to cotton. I'm not sure why there's so much hate for it but it definitely is better with sweat and feels comfortable.

I disagree. I use them as a 3rd layer to run in the winter in SE Michigan. I don't want something super warm since I'll generate my own heat so I just need some separation from the cold wind, this are great because they don't hold moisture.
I have some from reebok and adidas that are more thick and if I sweat too much they become very cold and very heavy so I use them when I'm not planing to run too much or to walk to the gym
