This thing is tiny and does not take up space at all. I think my IKEA shelf is only 18 inches deep and there is plenty of room for the A1 Mini to clear and run all day
Yep, the mini takes as much room as a normal paper printer's foot print.

Well all other printers' price went up but the mini is so good for a starter, $179 is crazy NO BRAINER to take over the market! Smart move.

I'm glad I ordered the AMS lite for mine to get it at $199. I should have gotten it as a combo but I didn't know how much I would like printing diff colors. lol

Jeez, kinda scummy of Bambu to immediately drop A1 Mini price even further after being on "sale" the whole month (with various random flash sales on Tik Tok). The so called sale on the A1M was basically their new MSRP for months. I bought the A1M for $188 or whatever of a Tik Tok flash sale before BF, but ultimately would've gotten it for less on BF when that sale made $170-something if I wasn't slow to check out my cart (family distractions, it was the holidays and was looking for other items to add to cart). I came back hours later by bed time only for them to increase it by $5 for a few hours. Slept off and woke up a few hours later again realizing I didn't purchase and saw ANOTHER $8 increase hours later lol. I still ended up rebuying since I wanted the A1M + AMS combo, but paid their higher sale price when it was $190/$330-something for the unit alone or AMS combo (respectively). Thank God for the Tik Tok $40 referral thing and venmo 35% deal removing the impact of these increases or I'd be salty as hell and just keep my existing A1M purchase.

Sorry, I know I'm rambling. Bambu's Tik Tok flash sale practices suck is my TL;DR. $180 for A1M is an absolute no brainer. It's so good.

Great deal. Although I would personally go with A1 combo for the full size printing bed, this Mini is a great space saver for small projects.

Is this printer better than the AnkerMade ones for a 3d newbie?
They require very little maintenance and produce wonderful looking prints. It's a great entry-level printer if you're looking to push print and have it do something without a lot of interaction.
I suggest watching some videos on YT to understand the common maintenance needs and fixes for when something goes wrong. Bambu also has a pretty extensive wiki.

Yup!

Actually I am wrong about 18" depth. I put my mini on this! This is only 16in deep.
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kall...-00415599/

My AMS Lite will need to be on the side. I measured and I can fit about 3 x A1 Mini on this 3-box shelf side by side... haha!

I did do the filament move to the top to take up less depth as well.
https://makerworld.com/en/models/...eId-426939

If you do single filament only, this is a good mod. There is one that gives you handle on top to help you move the A1 mini. I'm afraid of pulling on the handle on a PLA print in case it breaks off and drop the mini.

I should start a new guide post on Bambu Lab I love their printers and learning about 3D printing to get most frequently asked questions answered!

Contact Bambu and ask for a price adjustment/credit. What's the worst that can happen? If they say no, you still have the A1.

Thanks OP. Need to spread some rep around before hitting you up again (so says SD lol),Thinking about getting some hot ends other than the .4mm that came with my P1S. Anyone know how long the original hotend that comes with the printer lasts? I'm printing close to 24/7 lol and not sure if I should by a backup just yet (printer is a few weeks old). I
Depends on what material you're printing. Standard PLA and PETG without any inclusions (glitter, glow, carbon fiber) don't add a lot of wear to the nozzle. It eventually will wear down but they last a long time. I'm still on the original hardened steel nozzle and I'm a few days from a year of almost constant printing.
Doesn't hurt to pick up another hotend assembly to have on hand in case of emergency. They're also fairly easy to swap if you want to grab a different size (.2mm, .6, etc).

HAHA! I have 2 printers now... I want to get a 3rd from flashforge that has AMs built in but it is OOO. I am finding new ways to find what I want to print... inspiration, needs, household stuff, toys! ART too!!!

I am working on a flow where I can queue up what I want to print and organize it so I. can always start a print instead of searching for it on the fly. I also will get someone at home to help me move the build plate (buy more probably easier) so I can be away and send prints! I'm going nutz...

I grabbed 0.2 and 0.6 hot ends during the sale. 0.2 would be good if I need to print very small items for a finer print.

P1S hot ends take more work to switch with a couple of cables.

A1 / A1 mini is dead easy to swap!!!!

You can print a long time. most farm are almost 24/7 so should be ok. I do open up my P1S sometimes to vent it so it doesn't stay too warm. why? idk. just feel funny that it's so warm inside all the time.

I am switching my AMS to PETG. AMS Lite will be PLA.

I am also getting a new build plate that is SUPER STICKY as well for the P1S. I gotta consolidate all of my findings and share all of the links for all newbies to Bambu to get everyone a great start!

Yes if you can only have one. I think A1 also but the price gap is much wider now instead of just $100. Now decision is harder!

I was going to pick up another A1 but now price is higher so I may try another brand for a lower price multi-color print

Yes, get the Bambu to start. I'm in both the AnkerMake and Bambu product universes, and in working with AnkerMake lately on some support issues, it's clear to me that they did their best to dip a toe in the 3D printing market, but aren't likely to stay in it long term. The folks over at Bambu are clearly here to stay and develop excellent products.

I've been wanting to get a 3D printer, and from my very basic research Bambu is the one to go with. Would anyone suggest a good printer to go with for a beginner??
absolutely agree with the other member with 3 A1 Minis'.

This is the best printer for beginner

Mobile App
Windows/Mac App
full integration to send prints over the network

features that other printers have now such as auto-leveling

great troubleshooting and error detection and guides you thru the process including filanent changes!

great community support and great makerworld for 3d models in addition to thingiverse and printables.

I just ordered the A1 Combo with AMS, last night before the BF sale expired and thought the price got dropped as well like on the A1 Mini. However i paid $449 not including shipping while this sale is now $489...So i guess i can come down and not freak out i overpaid and need to contact Bambu for a price adjustment.

I've tried quite a few desktop printers and A1 mini was one of the best bang for the buck, plug & play printers I've ever used. Quality of printed parts is amazing, but the platform is fairly small
