We have one in our laundry room and it's perfect, not needing to hit a switch carrying a load of laundry in our out of the room. Loading/unloading machines provides enough motion to keep the lights on, we have the timeout set to one minute and are rarely if ever left in the dark. Also that same room connects to our attached garage - nice to have the light click on as soon as you swing the door open when coming home after dark and walking in from the garage.

We have one in a powder room as well - setting the timeout to 5 minutes is usually more than enough.

I've used this brand and after about two years it takes on a mind of its own- with random turn-ons
I gave up on it after replacing two for the same room

That makes sense... I guess i don't have any proper use case for this 🤔
You can also set it to auto turn on but require a manual turn off. There are several options when setting these up. I use on in my laundry room, my half bathroom, and my bedroom closet. I have a couple others that I haven't installed because I haven't come across a suitable place for them.

This is fine if you don't have neutral but if you do the wifi ones from TP-Link are much better. Gives you better control - replacing this with a tp-link in the garage made it a lot less annoying as I don't need to do the little dance when working on something in the garage every time the light goes off.

Typical Amazon "sale". If you are buying 2 more or more, each unit price is $17.49 at home depot, everyday pricing. The sale is not as much as you'd like to believe before stocking these up.

Crazy how they have cheapened this switch, never seen a plastic mounting bracket before... I installed these many years ago into each bathroom, laundry room, walk-in closets and my kids room (in occupancy mode) and they have worked really well and none have failed yet. Unlike these new ones, mine still have a metal mounting bracket. The only issue I have is in a walk-in closet next to a bathroom where both the bathroom exhaust fan and the closet light are on the same circuit, when I turn off the bathroom fan it seems to back-feed into the circuit and in 90% or so confuse the light switch in the walk-in closet and it turns on the light as if someone walked in. I'm blaming the cheap builder-grade fan on it, but don't know if this is a problem even with better/newer exhaust fans.

Ground it to the box
Did not work. It needs an actual ground wire direct to panel and not just a pigtail to the box.

If you have steel boxes, it could be that the steel box itself is grounded and you could pigtail a ground wire off the steel box to pick up a ground.
Unfortunately, even that switch box isn't grounded. I tried to connect the ground to the box but it didn't work.

Almost ordered one until I remembered the Lutron or Smartthings apps don't control this.

Does anyone know if this senses occupancy without constant movements?
Not sure if I exactly understand the question. But I have this switch in my bathroom .

Middle of the night I walk in , it immediately turns on. I hit the switch to turn it off . It gives me about 5 seconds in which I make it to the toilet to pee with my back to the sensor . I can make it through my pee 90% of the time without it turning back on. But even the slightest sway it turns back on.

When I'm showering . It turns off due to it not seeing my movement through the glass . I just wiggle the door the slightest and comes back on. Or if I have a towel hanging over the glass I wiggle that.

While it may not sense occupancy without constant movement mine is very sensitive. I can try to poop without turning it on but it can be difficult as the tiniest movement turns it back on .

Good deal (OPS2-WH), but if you want to use this to handle the light AND a fan (OPS5M), for instance in the bathroom, go with the higher amperage model. Lowes has 3 for $79. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Lutron-M...1000069229

Any Decora style wallplate should work.

I have a house full of smart devices/switches, as well as a couple of these "dumb" motion sensors - they work great and have a number of built in programmable features.
