A favored wide-angle prime, the Canon EF-mount Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens is a versatile lens with a classic broad field of view that suits everything from street shooting to landscape photography. Impressively bright, the fast f/1.4 maximum aperture is ideal for working in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. An advanced optical design is employed, which uses both low dispersion glass and aspherical elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations for greater clarity and sharpness. A Super Multi-Layer Coating is also featured, and suppresses ghosting and flare for improved contrast and color accuracy.

What do people shoot with 28mm primes, out of curiosity? It's a focal length I don't use.
28mm is good for street photography but unfortunately this 28mm F1.4 is pretty large, so it kinda beats the purpose. I'd rather take 28mm pancake lens like the Nikon 28mm F2.8.

Thanks yeah I had the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 and rarely used it cause it's so large and heavy. Also sucky AF, but that was probably the D7000's fault.
Nice price for a great lens!! Now Sigma, release the 14mm 1.4 for the Z Nikon!!!!!
Just picked the 14mm 1.4 for my Sony over Black Friday still waiting for it to ship.
I do wish they would have more sales for the Sony E mount, seems like Canon and Nikon mounts definitely get better sales on their mounts and branded lens. Its rare you see many Sony deals outside of green toe.

Yeah, Sigma lenses tend to be very heavy. AF with D7000 is slow and imprecise.
They should have made a 18mm 1.8 prime lens for DX mount. It would be much smaller and lighter (and cheaper)
