Great deal! One thing to note is that despite the images from Acer showing it has a 3090, that is incorrect. It has a RTX 4090 instead so the title is indeed correct.

I own the older model with the 4060 card and bought it during Acer open box sale for $850 earlier this year.

I've owned this for over 4 months now and zero issues. Had to disable the flashing LED lights which gets boring after a while. The keyboard has virtually no flex and the mousepad area is glass. Zero issues on mine and I've played Elden Ring and currently playing Stalker2.

It's big, heavy but the IPS screen is really good. I work from home so use this in my home office. And this is a gaming laptop so I hope someone doesn't go "oh..only 2 hours battery!".

Note that acer laptop cannot be undervolted. It is also very loud, even for a gaming laptop. You should consider to pair this with llano pad or something.
Price is 🔥 for the specs though. If this somehow stacked with coupon a while ago, that would be a no brainer.

Several days before RTX50 series launching. It's a good deal as of now but wait is worth it!

Yes, also this too. Unlike desktop 4090, mobile 4090 doesn't have much overhead compared to 4080. The halo premium will likely lose value faster as 5000 laptops roll out next year.

thanks! been looking for an 18" laptop and been on the fence about different models.... this ended up being a no brainer for the i9 + 32gb + 4090 and a 2 year warranty.... Yes there will always be a cheaper version when new tech comes out, its an endless cycle!

Note: I was leaning towards the alienware m18 R2 but you need to atleast get the 4080 card to have the ability for 2 m2 hard drives, the 4070 only board only has 1 drive ability... had to find almost that out the hard way

just pulled the trigger. I was waffling on it yesterday when the listing was 2150ish, another 300 off made it a no brainer.

Rtx50 series will be soon, but the (maybe dubious) leaked specs make the mid range cards not seem like a giant upgrade (and still in the 8gb vram strata that feels too low for long term comfort) and 5080+ laptops won't be near the 2000 range until this time next year (and that's ignoring the tariff possibilities)

I got this a few weeks ago from Best Buy for $2400.

Really nice machine, great performance and finish. I will say it's BIG. If you've never seen an 18" laptop in person you'll likely be surprised. I'd probably consider returning it for the refurb price if I didn't get it tax-free with pretty decent cash back bonuses.

I considered waiting for the 5000 series too, but they won't be in laptops for quite a while, and they won't be on sale. If you're already looking for a nice machine, pull the trigger.

Any setup recommendations/things to check to make sure all is well? I finally managed to snag one this AM. Had some payment issues with paypal... was not aware that even if you change your default preferred payment method, it does not change for any merchants you've previously purchased from. Turns out I have about a dozen merchants still using my old payment method under "automatic payments".

Back in stock. Best deal for a 4090 gaming laptop by far, especially with that beautiful 18" miniLED screen.

Verify the laptop is stable while gaming or stress testing, run a memtest, and run a battery report.

If you want to get rid of all the junk software the manufacturer pre-installs, I'd recommend formatting your drive immediately and installing a fresh copy of Windows from a USB drive. You don't need a license key; it's tied to the hardware. The new Windows install will automatically activate the first time you boot.

If you don't want to tie your Windows account to an online Microsoft account, you don't have to. You can always add a Microsoft account later if you decide to.

I would also recommend limiting your battery max charge. This will greatly reduce wear on your battery, keeping it healthy for a long time. You can do this in the Acer Care Center app, Checkup tab, Battery charge limit: https://community.acer.com/en/kb/...are-center Feel free to disable the limit when you're going to be using your laptop on the go, but there's no need to hold it at 100% charge when it's just sitting on your desk.
