I've owned this for over 4 months now and zero issues. Had to disable the flashing LED lights which gets boring after a while. The keyboard has virtually no flex and the mousepad area is glass. Zero issues on mine and I've played Elden Ring and currently playing Stalker2.
It's big, heavy but the IPS screen is really good. I work from home so use this in my home office. And this is a gaming laptop so I hope someone doesn't go "oh..only 2 hours battery!".
Price is 🔥 for the specs though. If this somehow stacked with coupon a while ago, that would be a no brainer.
Note: I was leaning towards the alienware m18 R2 but you need to atleast get the 4080 card to have the ability for 2 m2 hard drives, the 4070 only board only has 1 drive ability... had to find almost that out the hard way

Rtx50 series will be soon, but the (maybe dubious) leaked specs make the mid range cards not seem like a giant upgrade (and still in the 8gb vram strata that feels too low for long term comfort) and 5080+ laptops won't be near the 2000 range until this time next year (and that's ignoring the tariff possibilities)
Really nice machine, great performance and finish. I will say it's BIG. If you've never seen an 18" laptop in person you'll likely be surprised. I'd probably consider returning it for the refurb price if I didn't get it tax-free with pretty decent cash back bonuses.
I considered waiting for the 5000 series too, but they won't be in laptops for quite a while, and they won't be on sale. If you're already looking for a nice machine, pull the trigger.

If you want to get rid of all the junk software the manufacturer pre-installs, I'd recommend formatting your drive immediately and installing a fresh copy of Windows from a USB drive. You don't need a license key; it's tied to the hardware. The new Windows install will automatically activate the first time you boot.

If you don't want to tie your Windows account to an online Microsoft account, you don't have to. You can always add a Microsoft account later if you decide to.

I would also recommend limiting your battery max charge. This will greatly reduce wear on your battery, keeping it healthy for a long time. You can do this in the Acer Care Center app, Checkup tab, Battery charge limit: https://community.acer.
