Great Set. I have this exact one and the 300pc Hart set from Walmart for $78. I find myself using the Hart set on cars so much more in the past few years. Not because it's better or anything, but because I said "I'll wear out the cheap stuff first".
Thinking I would get a year or two out of them, Still holding up strong. 15+ car/truck builds later, and I do still look forward to the day I'd be able to use my Husky set for the car work and not TV mount installs and patio/deck work.

It was front page a few years ago at $149, don't know if that price is possible these days, but hopefully something closer will pop up.

Thoughts on how this compares to the $99 Craftsman at Lowe's? Restarting my tool collection from scratch after a move...

Quite a few unfavorable reviews regarding the quality control and sub-standard case falling apart.

I got this last November for $149. You can use your Home Depot credit card for the extra 5% for $160 after tax. I give it a 7/10. My one and ONLY complaint is the stupid freaking front plastic lock tabs. I avoid using the top handle. Besides that I would give it a 8.5/10

People will complain about the fillers on pre Made kits but for someone who tries to save money working on their own car and might only turn a wrench a few times a year this set is perfect for your needs. But if you're a pro then you aren't even shopping for tools in this price range.

Also have had this set for about 5 years now. Very happy with the quality of the wrenches and sockets. The Allen keys are just okay. As others have said the case design isn't the best. If you carry by the top handle the plastic tabs for the drawers will come open and they will slide out and dump the contents on the floor. I haven't had to use the warranty yet as a somewhat casual weekend warrior with doing mostly small to medium car repairs and home projects. I have a separate set of sockets to use with my impact driver. Overall I would recommend this set for the home mechanic/DIYer as long as you can deal with the clunky case or re-home the tools to a toolbox.

Cool set but the 12 point sockets are useless in my opinion.

Wanted to get this, but couldn't justify paying more than double for pretty much the same thing as the Hart set. Fewer filler items here, but not worth that kind of premium. The Hart tool box also seems nicer.

Ended up ordering the Hart.

You're thinking the 270 piece. I know cause I was looking at these two and the Gearwrench set. Settled on this 290 piece. It actually went on sale early November, been this price since for the holidays.

They give you a 72 tooth ratchet and then a bunch of 12 pt sockets. It's not easy to find all 6 pt sets, but it's worth the hunt.
