While I'd prefer to see 1TB SSD, a USB-c 4.o port, and a brighter screen in a gaming laptop, at this price I'd be willing to overlook those issues. The RAM and SSD both have empty slots, so you can upgrade when the storage and or memory become an issue for you.
The one thing you can't upgrade is the battery life, so make sure that you can live with about 5 hours of non-gaming battery life. Having USB-C charging helps with that as you don't always have to take the power brick with you for charging on the go.

The more serious issue was a manufacturing/materials defect that caused the CPUs to fail over time. That issue was limited to a smaller production run and did not affect the vast majority of even those high powered CPUs. It got a lot of attention because Intel's QA completely missed the issue until CPUs were already in the hands of consumers and started failing. (Intel's poor QA is a big part of the reason Apple made the switch to it's own silicon when it did)
The second less serious issue was a software issue in the CPUs microcode. The logic used to reduce power to the CPU when the temperature went above safe temperatures was flawed and this caused a situation where under certain conditions the CPUs would overheat and fail when they were used at max power for extended periods. (More detail in linked article)
This issue was fixed by Intel by providing an update to the microcode that set proper thermal limits on the CPUs and lowered the power above certain temperatures. This update was provided to laptop/motherboard makers and then made available to end users via a bios update around September 2024. So if you buy a laptop with an intel 13XXXX CPU be sure to update the bios to the latest available from the manufacturer (Lenovo) and you should not encounter the overheating issue.
So while these two issues did cause CPU failure in a number of laptops and desktops using the Intel 13XXXX generation of CPUs, you are very unlikely to experience problems with these CPUs going forward as long as you make sure that you have the latest bios update.
I'm going off of memory for this so please respond with any corrections or clarifications if you can.
