They make nice gear but I recently ordered a puffer from them and I noticed a stitch was coming apart after the 90 days and fill was coming out. I had worn the jacket twice. I don't love that manufacturer defects go through their warranty process where you pay shipping. I would expect a longer period for quick replacement a premium brand. Brands like LL Bean do it correctly and I would say they are a tier below MH.

Women's Ghost Whisperer/2 Hoody is a screaming deal at $90 if you need/want a light down jacket that packs well.

Worth mentioning that most MH gear is made for a slimmer/more athletic body shape, which is noticeably different than most brands.

Edit: And there's the Ghost Whisperer further up on the front page. I long for the days when the most general link for a sale was posted once, and discussion about specific items was centralized. There are currently four front page entries for this one deal, which seems ridiculous/counterproductive.

I have a down comforter that I got as a gift, I can't even use it because it's too warm unless I leave the heat off in the house at night ๐Ÿ˜‚ I guess it'll never be cold enough in Alabama for one of these, I'd probably have a heat stroke in the middle of winter walking around in this.
Give it to a cousin. Wink, nod.

Never heard of this brand. I'm assuming it's pretty good, but most of the men's sizes are oos

Great how MH uses women models 5'9 wearing S that are nothing like the general population. Average US height is 5'2 and 155 lbs

It's cute that you think the average American woman is that small.

SC chiming in. I just turn the heat off at night and turn it back on in the morning.

Probably a hot take, but not every clothing brand/line needs to cater to the average.

I have access to the Columbia employee store, so I've been able to try a wide variety of stuff across all their brands, and my impression is MH is cut for athletic frames while Columba is cut more for the general population. My primary hobbies involve a high activity level (club sports, road biking), and that's how I've met most of my friends. It's a running gag among us how tough it can be to find clothing cut for athletic builds (wide shoulders/chest, slim waist, large thighs/calves) for all genders. For me specifically: trying on most non-tailored men's dress shirts often varies from frustrating to hilarious. I share a lot of deals with teammates, so I know a lot of the women do comfortably wear MH tops/jackets in Small and Medium.

Most athletic/outdoor brands tend to cut their lifestyle lines fuller than their active lines, so people shaped like me end up with off-field tops that either pinch my pits or are noticeably loose around my waist unless I limit myself to specific cuts that are often out of stock during sales. MH is great because anything I buy from them will probably fit pretty well.
