I have this. It's quite thin compared to other carbon steel pans. It heats up quickly and does not hold heat well for searing.
However, the size and quick heating makes this a fantastic egg pan.

Domestic producers aren't idiots. They just raise their prices to the level of imported items

8" is pointless. Got the 12" for $28.

If it is as thin as others mentioned, it should not have good heat distribution, and even for eggs, it will be spotty. Do I miss something in my logic?

I'm sure. Snall pancakes. I would use a bigger skillet myself.

Man, I was excited when my deal alert popped up, then saw that it is 1.5mm thick 😩. The OP listed size is probably great for eggs, but the 12" size is also on sale (and the size I'm looking for), is not good for searing. Nice for stir frying veggies, light and easy to toss, but I already have a Joyce Chen wok for that which is around the same thickness.

Still, thumbs up for the good deal. Still might get the 8" for eggs and other light tasks.

Right but if the importer has to raise prices, that lowers demand from other countries and makes it less profitable and more so for domestic production. I get that this is a fun talking point, but even as someone on the left, I get tired of seeing this. It doesn't matter who's paying it, because as long as someone has to, it does what it is meant to do. It's likely not good economic policy, but that's not the same discussion.

I have the 12" of this pan. For me, the thinness is a feature, not a drawback. I sold my very heavy debuyer and bought this since I usually sear in my cast iron instead and I wanted a lighter pan. This is excellent for everything else where heat distribution is less of a concern. Also, the bottom is thicker than the sides, so it's not too bad.

Any idea where this is made? It says it's a German company but no details on where they actually make it
