Plus, there's free installation which has been previously mentioned.
My Perilli tires came to $830 with free installation, tpms, disposal fee, Lifetime rotation and balance, etc.
Discount tire would have cost me $1200

1. call the customer service to do a price match to Sam's free installation. They sent a quote to me, so I could place the order online myself. Was able to stack BC and paypal 5% from chase
2. went to store for installation, the employee check the price of certificate (insurance) for me, and it is only $100ish for 4 tires (tire price at $200 each). Much cheaper than usual. Upon checking, I noticed that they applied the $80 instant discount of 4 tires on the certificate. (Usually you don't get further discount after price match)
3. After installation, I noticed that there's another $75 mail-in rebate for a sets of tires I bought. I submitted the rebate on-line and got approved in 2 days.
So I ended up get the same price in Discount Tire and got the certificate for ~$30. Very good deal for me.

Buying tires and having them mounted are easy enough. You go online and you place the order. When the tires arrive at the store of your choice, they call you to make an appointment for you to come in and have them mounted.
After that? Good luck trying to call them to make an appointment for rotation, balancing, or repairs. They never pick up their phone and you always get routed to their 'national' tire service center who can't make appointment for you. You can't get online to make an appointment (like you could with Costco). The only option is for you to actually show up at the store and hope that they have an slot open for them to work on your tire(s) or to make an appointment to return another day. Just too much hassle.
This is my personal experience with Sam's Club in the Houston area, by the way. I always call the three Sam's Club near me (home and work) and none of them ever pick up their phone.
