You see, ports are used for charging and I/O. Not only is lightning proprietary, it's based on snail paced USB 2.0. When Apple introduced lightning in 2012, usb 3.0 had already been around for 4 (!!!) years.
So, you would have proposed Apple to use USB-A in 2012? Big Grin USB-C wasn't finalized until 2014. Who even uses a port on a phone for data nowadays? Only Android users, I believe, because they're still living in the Stone Age. Smilie

You don't do any diagnostics on anything. Who are you kidding? Maybe you had some technical expertise at some point, but those days have long passed. All you do now is drop a couple of buzzwords in an attempt to fake it. You're probably now in sales or otherwise several layers separated from people who actually do IT work.
It's not diagnostics per se, I'm a cybersecurity expert. I would never been able to work as sales Smilie

You're still clinging to this moronic point that OBD-II scanners are obsolete? Guaranteed you've never turned a wrench either. Pull a fuse for a critical component, drive it to your mechanic with a CEL on and watch which tool he pulls out to diagnose it.
Diagnostic tools that mechanics use and connect to the ports cost thousands and thousands of dollars and they are specific tools created by car manufacturers. Also, Tesla Y that I drive does not have it, because it becomes a thing of the past.

Your big argument for your iphone is casting your phone screen onto a TV. On the extremely rare times I've wanted to do this, just about any smart tv supports this natively. For a dumb TV, just use a Chromecast. Once again, this no big deal feature that we've had for eons is a revolutionary feature for you. This is the weirdest flex I've ever seen.
Lol, you don't even know what I was talking about. It's not just streaming, and not on TV, it's a full phone control on my Mac, absolutely seamless - its just works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3HNnfsmBrM

If my phone breaks tomorrow, I will take it to the ubreakifix shop which is an authorized Google repair shop about 10 minutes away. My pixel 8 had a defective screen and they replaced it within an hour. My pixel 9 XL has been perfect.
Apple Store would just have replaced your device.

Usb-a is the rectangular legacy charging/data port which uses spec 1.X/2.X/3.X. Usb-C is the newer small flat oval port that's been around for ~8 years or 8 minutes ago if you're an iPhone user. You're an IT security expert like Dr. Dre is a surgeon.

Ports are for data or charging. Apple made the data pitch at their sales event last year as a reason for pulling huge 4K video files off their phones. Of course, this was partially a face-saving lie since the bigger reason was they risked losing the EU market by forcing people to continue to buy their phones w/ their stupid, slow proprietary dinosaur port any longer.

Mechanics often work on a variety of different cars and don't carry specialized scan tools for each manufacturer. What they always keep is a cheap scan tool or several to pull engine codes, so they know where to troubleshoot. Most cars use OBD-II and will for the foreseeable future. I can't believe you're still effing this chicken.

No one cares about controlling their phone from their laptop. You're the only person I've ever heard of who does. This is such a ridiculous feature to brag about.

Don't care about getting a new phone. I was back up and running with my P8 in under an hour.

I see that logic is not your strongest side Smilie Apple has implemented Lightning when USB-C did not exist.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I make 2x $ of what you make. But you can continue wasting your time on fighting on forums.

This feature is a lifesaver for people who do productivity work on their computers (instead of attending forum wars defending google crap).

Usb 3.0 was a thing when lightning was invented and Apple said nah, 480 Mbps is quite enough. And then they made you use that port until 2023 and would have longer if they could have gotten away with it.

It's highly likely that you don't make more than me. A lot of BS-ers such as yourself can rise to pretty high positions, so it's not out of the question. But, I also have a six-figure real estate business as my side hustle. So again, not likely.

I'm absolutely certain you've never worked on a car in your life. I'm just waiting for you to now tell me how useless ratchets and wrenches are and how universal sockets are the wave of the future.

Guy who is defending the lightning port totally swears that no one really knows what productivity is until they can do what do on their phone but on the screen of their overpriced MacBook.😂

Do you understand that nobody cares about transfer speed of a port on a phone? Everything is in Cloud.

Good for you, I have the same, but in Crypto.

Honestly I don't care about cars. Even if I didn't have Tesla, I would not do anything with it since my time is much more expensive than cost of work of a regular mechanic.Simple math.

We used universal and robust lightning port when Android users had to use crappy micro usb Big Grin Don't even start about MacBooks Big Grin

p.s. Just have read that Pixel 9 face unlock does not work at night  and this guy still discussing port speed that no-one cares about Big Grin Android users are really funny.....

Apple highlighted usb-c transfer speeds at their keynote when they gave you 2015 technology in 2023. You're talking about micro-usb like Obama is still president.

I'm sure you're a crypto wizard. You probably rode all the crashes in recent years down to the bottom.

Thanks for validating that you know nothing about cars in addition to technology or anything, apparently.

Apple has been coming up with one gimmick after another to dress up their bathtub sized notch for their IR camera. My phone unlocks before it's held up to my face since the fingerprint scanner is that fast. If you're wearing sunglasses larger than John Lenin you better get used to typing in your passcode on an iPhone.
