Anyone have this level? Very attractive price. Need something for digging field drainage at a constant 3ft depth.

Nice. Combine with my 15% discounted gift cards from DG. Too bad no 10% military on top of this price.

Crud, this probably would have been useful to me 2 years ago when I was doing major yardwork, ripping out old grassm excavating and leveling dirt and then doing some hardscaping and landscaping.... it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked and I still need to finish some areas but not sure I'll need this now since the adjustments I have to work on are probably pretty minimal.

Don't worry, red is very hard to see outside during the day. Green would have been better to use.

I have what I believe is this same model, and I'm really happy with it. Mine didn't come with the case, which would have been nice. I bought it specifically because it takes AA batteries, which I keep plenty of on hand. I keep zero C's or D's, and didn't want to have a dead battery when I pull it out a couple times a year. I don't store it with batteries in it, because AA's are prone to leaking over time.
I've used it for grading drainage, doing fencing, pouring slabs, excavating trenches (I zip tied the receiver to the boom of the excavator). It's continued to serve me really well as an ambitious homeowner for the last 4 or 5 years.

for that use, just grab a 2x4 and mark it at 3'... it'll be much easier and faster, especially if you need to follow slopes or a grade as well.

I agree lol. It was difficult and frustrating figuring out especially at first. Then it got a little easier but still annoying remember to step (and not trip) over those lines hahaha

I have a green Bosch rotary level. It's still damn near impossible to see in the daylight outside. The detector makes all the difference though. Without the detector the green one would be pretty useless outside as well.

Amazon sells an adapter that allows you to use three AA batteries in place of a D cell. It's made for eneloops, but I imagine alkaline would work as well.
