Just bought this model last week, but with 64gb RAM and OLED screen for $1199. Seems to be the same machine less the two upgrades unless I'm missing something. Is the OLED screen that much better? I'm mostly using it for business and will mainly be using ms office and some accounting software. Might return it and pick this one up instead.

given your usage, you should return that and get this one. the model that you got for $1199 was available on deal for $979 (including additional year of warranty) in October. OLED screen is great, but not sure if it is worth giving $500 more just for that. 64 GB RAM is also overkill for most needs. I got that one for $980, but I would have got this one if I was in return window. I am already out of my return window.

Did the oled version have bigger battery? Which one will run longer on battery?

This is through a VIP store - so would not be eligible for std cashbacks, unless something has changed with Lenovo terms.

This is a significantly more powerful machine than the x1 carbon at nearly the same physical size. X1s are stuck with intel processors. The only real downsides here compared to x1c is a slightly larger body, a little more weight, and Mylar vs glass trackpad, which you can mod easily for glass later on if it bothers you.

Windows pro offers almost no advantages over home version outside of some business specific features.

I'm confused why it's not front page when it was front page at $889. Seems the same.

Did they already price match? I thought we were supposed to send an email to price match.

If you sign up for rewards can you use that to buy an additional year of warranty via chat? Seemed like there was previous deal comments along those lines

This deal makes the price delta pretty large so definitely worth considering if you can live without a 3K 120Hz OLED screen. If you have it docked with a monitor most of the time, then this cheaper model makes sense, but if not, and to me, the screen is what you are looking at 100% of the time when using the laptop and you want it looking as bright, sharp and with the most accurate colors possible.
It's going to be hooked up to an external monitor with some minimal use without it. Hard to justify the extra money for a nicer screen, especially for my use case. Looks like I'll be sending it back and ordering this one.

I remember that deal in October and was hoping a similar one would be around for Black Friday since I wasn't in a position to buy it then. I wanted at least 32gb of RAM and agree the 64gb is overkill for mostly using excel and chrome.
