I just opened chat and once I had a live agent I asked if there were any further discounts. He created another cart and added a discount code. I think it was 10%
the final price with tax was $314.90 for the 55"

I signed up for AAA. It was $30 to sign up for year. So I justified the discount and other benefits of AAA membership

Was able to get free mounting, $1 for the Samsung care, and an extra 10% off in chat, 65" came to 425 before tax (including trade in of an old TV)

You first login into your samsung account first and then use the aaa discount page on the same browser which will validate your aaa account and then lookup the qe1d tv or use the link in this post.

The $322 price is if you have the student discount and if you do a $50 trade in of your older TV. They immediately gave me the $50 off and picked up my old TV that tbh probably could not give away for free.

I believe it's edge lighting ! Yes Q60D is edge lit.

An "edge-lit" TV has LEDs placed only along the edges of the screen, making it thinner and often cheaper, while a "direct-lit" TV has LEDs positioned directly behind the entire LCD panel, resulting in more even brightness and better contrast, but usually at a higher cost and thicker profile
