No thanks, I don't want to die in a fiery crash. Teslas as a brand are the deadliest cars on the road per mile.
nope, there's no gas so what firey crash are you talking about. Unless you mean speeding and slamming into something at a high speed, same thing would happen if you rode a horse

Unless Walmart chargers are free, buying electricity per kWh from a charger in a parking lot for an electric SUV or truck is probably more expensive than getting gas to get you the same distance.

If you want to reap the benefits of plug-in vehicles, you must be able to use electricity at residential rates or find free chargers.

I've seen people charging F150 Lightnings, Hummer EV SUV/SUTs, and other large EVs at retail chargers, and I cringe at what those recharges probably cost.
We got the 3 yrs free charge with our VW ID.4 but one time I charged at Disneyland because I didn't want to charge on the way home. It was ~$20 for 50% charge. I did the math and it equated to an ICE car getting ~70mpg.

For context: Tesla is 5.6 fatalities per billion miles, next is Kia at 5.5 per billion miles…still very low so your chances of dying in a fiery crash is almost the same for any type of car.

That's because most bad drivers can't handle a Tesla's acceleration. They drive like idiots. If you had driven one, you would understand. I am going to buy a second Tesla after having my first for only a year.

Over 200 comments and no one is talking about the breakdown of cost for folks potentially interested in the deal. Everyone is on Ford, hybrids and Tesla comparisons.
This is great deal. Hybrids are the way to go. I have an all electric VW ID.4 and it's a PITA to charge. I've had to wait for an hour at midnight to change to get home before. Range anxiety is real. I drove it to Fresno in the fall and charging added 2.5hrs to the 6hr drive.

This would be a great around town car that you have the option to drive longer. All electric are really only an option for people who drive around town only (at least in SoCal where you have to drive a long time to get anywhere).

I'm of the opinion that I would rent an ICE car for any road trips and only use the EV around town or short trips out of town. Yeah, there's the cost of a rental, but there's the benefit of keeping those miles off your car as well.

I don't often go on road trips.

Incredible deal, sadly none of the dealerships around me have it for less than $37,000
